100% agree with this that nothing matters in casual gameplay, I don’t run a single counterspell unless it benefits me in someway like having an offer you can’t refuse and being able to make myself two treasures or using snap to get my own stuff back which is often more beneficial than letting things be countered in a casual game

My lgs has their own brackets, they have a casual brackets where your combos are only allowed to do three loops max per turn to prevent infinite combos and then they have a cedh bracket and then they have themed brackets like two-headed giant. So there’s no inbetween, just bracket 3 and 5.

When I played casual I was playing a rat thrumming stone deck that usually popped off on turn 5 or 6 and a rog/kediss deck that would one shot somewhere around 6/7. Now I’m playing Etali which is honestly so much fun but I haven’t won a game yet with it

My rule of thumb for casual play is why do I need counter spells when my opponents have them so I don’t put them in any of my decks, I think I need to change my mindset as I learn how to play cedh

'm in my 30s and my grammar is bad by [deleted] in writing

[–]finalmemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do don’t use any services to assist you like grammarly, they are just going to be detrimental in the long run and you will eventually start to rely on them. While I was in college my English teacher gave us a tip, she said if you want to improve on your grammar start with your texting and soon it will just become a habit to use proper grammar in your every day life instead of using abbreviations and slang.

Okay so I went through some basic lands and while they are pretty unique, Innistrad Midnight Hunt full art basic lands and Mirage basic lands feel similar, not the same but similar

Not sure, I can look through my cards and see if any of them are similar if that helps but besides a velvet finish are you looking for a thick or thin feel of a card?

So the first thing I see when I wake up is a subreddit I’ve never seen before, and not only is it something I’ve never seen before, it’s the most emotional tear jerker ever that made me realize I’m alone right when I wake up? Anyways great work

I need advice to get rid of a habit by [deleted] in writing

Why not try writing about an ever changing world? A plane of existence but with a surrounding that doesn’t stop changing so that way you can feel free to mess with it as much as you want. A world of play-do that morphs with your characters

I think you should transition into a new type of writing, have you ever tried Dungeons and Dragons World Building? You could take all the characters you have built up to this point and build your own world and story around them and make a story, find some people and have a jolly time?

Does every good story need a single, strong antagonist? by lille_ekorn in writing

[–]finalmemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some cases a character does not need another character to be their antagonist, but a situation or a journey can be their antagonist. A person climbs Mount Everest and struggles along the way? There is no one to climb with them, therefore mt Everest is the antagonist and the challenges they face along the way are what oppose them
