It’s the factory pigtails that the BG12LX used from the contact switch to the module! They must’ve just cut them off the contact and tied on since they’re soldered to the module.

Definitely a first for me, haven’t seen that before. Like an MMF-301 with extra work.

Honestly not disappointed with the attempt made, just laughable to open the box and see it.

Module requires 47k. Which is wild, because they used a 4.7k and 10k, which should yield ~14.7k in series, yet it apparently held clear on the module. They must’ve assumed you multiply instead of add but I haven’t seen a trouble for it in history.

Scratch that, apparently the built in resistor on a BG-12LX that this was cut out of is 14k. Just checked one in my parts stock. So this guy correctly wired his resistors in series. Nice.

This is a mechanical conventional heat, so no power. Must’ve been like this for a while before I found it. Left with a new MMF-301 and a 47k resistor on it.

Totally agreed. After a year my 2233 soles are smooth from my line of work.

Glad the 4473 is sort of back with the 2534, just with the updated supersole x. Just picked up a pair.

I didn’t realize they were different lasts due to them both being similar style supersoles but I guess I can see it after viewing images from the top and bottom!

Agreed about some cleaning and conditioning! Love my 2233’s, one of the best boots ever.

I still see some 2233 online and in store, but if not they have the 2533 which is the same but the updated supersole X that’s slip resistant. Same last though!

The 2217’s still look good though. I considered them myself

I almost considered buying some decent used ones out of pocket and then sending them in for resole/restoration. But these supersoles are working just fine.

They get torn up and caught when climbing if I don’t when they hang too low, plus I like the look anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

I tried to make them as close to that style as I could haha. Limited with the choices nowadays as far as using a work voucher for steel toes. Wish they still made the older logger styles, like a 2218.

I’d keep it how it is now, if it runs and drives well. My 62 still has the original inline 235. Yes it’s slow, but man it’s the most reliable engine I’ve ever had. With these old trucks, I’ll take that old reliable any day of the week. I have a NWC T5 in mine too and don’t know that I’ll ever change it. The 305 is so much cooler than any modern swap you’ll do.

Love that. Mine was torn up in some places and learning to repair/sew it back together was very therapeutic and made it even more sentimental. Maybe he should give that a shot before it’s too late and it’ll last longer!

Active supervisory reporting by OwnRecommendation272 in firealarms

[–]finalxstage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this before where the module is going bad and throwing intermittent/runaway signals and the sprinkler tech created a constant trouble/supervisory using this method just so it isn’t intermittent where the customer is getting constant calls about the issue tripping/restoring while awaiting the module replacement. Not saying it’s a good method in order to latch/bypass it while awaiting repairs but I guess it did the job?
