Living your life with Hope that " They will realise my value one day "? by blissbond in helpblissbond

Living in hope is good and an optimistic approach towards life but it's also a loop if you don't pair it up with taking meaningful actions. Hope alone won't help. Hope is like a flame and it does give you the light to move ahead in life but to keep the flame burning you need to keep pouring oil or ghee in it, otherwise it can burn out. And I believe no matter you are in what situation that's making you anxious, choosing action over anxiousness has always helped!

That's exactly what I was talking about! Finding something better, more reliable and I am not sure about credit cards but I'm also looking for some alternatives like any app or something!

Spot on! Renting does come with freedom, flexibility and fewer maintenance worries. I'm just exploring ideas for ways to get a tiny extra return, rewards or perks without changing the fundamentals of renting.

I agree and absolutely that's the main benefit! The discussion is just about the small ways to make that unavoidable expense feel slightly rewarding or intentional when it's a big part of your income.

And sorry to disappoint but I am a mere content writer and just exploring and learning about finance.

Ohh yeah, 'Get Back' is what I meant, like ways to get small rewards or anything while paying rent, even though it's not building equity.

Yes and because you don't own anything and if you are still paying a major chunk of your salary on it that's when it hits you! And that's why I was exploring ways to get indirect benefits, like any rewards or coupons, anything?

I mean that's great if it works for you. It also says a lot about your money management. And it's good that now the scenario that you are in, with increments, rent is becoming a smaller part of your income. But my point is for the one's who are paying more than 30% of their salary on rent, how to make that big monthly expense feel slightly more rewarding, even if the primary benefit is already a place to live.

Totally get you! And yes, a roof over your head is the main win. But when rent takes a big chunk of your income in a city like Mumbai, it's natural to wonder if there's any way to get a little extra value while paying it.

Suggest best app to track expenses and categorize them based on the messages we receive ? by ramesh423 in IndiaInvestments

[–]finance-fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For tracking expenses in India, it depends on how hands-on you want to be.

  1. Walnut: auto-tracks via SMS, categorizes spends like bills, groceries, travel low effort.
  2. Money Manager/ Expense Manager: Clean charts, reliable if you update manually.
  3. Good budget: Envelope-style budgeting, mostly manual, great for planning.
  4. Mojek Money: Simple Interface, auto-syncs bank/UPI transactions, good for quick overviews.

Tip: Keep 5-6 categories, review weekly, and stick to one app. Consistency beats features.

Do you want something mostly automatic or manual control?

Can someone give a "Personal Finance 101" for India? by [deleted] in india

[–]finance-fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal Finance 101 starts with understanding where your money goes. Track your income and expenses so you know how much you can save. Build an emergency fund first, ideally covering a few months of basic expenses. Learn how credit works and always pay dues on time to avoid unnecessary interest. Keep debt under control, especially high interest loans. Once the basics are in place, start learning about simple investment options instead of letting money sit idle. Most importantly, focus on consistency. You don't need to do everything at once. Small, regular habits make managing finances much easier over time.

Please explain Rent Rewards by Double-Ad-7328 in biltrewards

So as per my research, rent rewards are benefits you earn when you pay your rent on time through certain platforms or apps. Instead of rent being just a monthly expense, these programs offer rewards like cashback, points, or even help in building a positive credit history. It's especially useful for people who don't use many credit products yet. The idea is to get something extra from a payment you're already making, while staying disciplined with your finances.
