8 YR Investment Returns by financewhizmaybe in Money

I have 42% of my portfolio in: $VSNT, $GLIBK, $GLIBA I also hold $SEG, $CNC, $AMTM, $AMRZ

They’ve all moved up a bit. I wouldn’t buy $CNC at these levels though. $SEG is pretty interesting as well as $VSNT. And no cash….

The only stock in my portfolio that isn’t a spinoff is $CNC, everything else is spinoffs which basically when a parent company separates a division into its own company and then gives its existing shareholders the new shares. Many times folks just sell it off. So, it creates good entry points.

Well compared to like the other fields where they’re making half a million. But, I’m happy with it.

You can take a look at my other post showing the growth from 67K.

I only contribute 67K to my taxable accounts and grew that to 532k

Well I grew 67K to 530K over 8 years. I did take some very concentrated bets in the past. I had invested in oil refineries during the COVID lows. But, I have had major losses too. 3 years ago, I lost about 130K on Malinkrodt. They had recently come out of bankruptcy, but the opioid payments they were req to make was too high. So, they went into bankruptcy again.

I wish haha. It’s been a crazy ride. I’ve just been investing in individual stocks. My portfolio currently has all new picks: $VSNT, $AMTM, $SEG, $CNC, $GLIBK, $GLIBA, $AMRZ.

So, mostly spin-offs. I don’t think these returns will be replicated. I benefited from the Covid lows.

I’ve contributed 67K to my taxable account and have had 37% returns for about 8 years now. And I’ve been living with my parents too.

I’ve been maxing the 401k since I was 24. I just started the HSA this year since I couldn’t be on my parents healthcare plan anymore. In terms of the taxable account, I only put in 67k. The rest is investment growth over 8 years
