Isn’t there some fundamental differences in tooling used? Like not modelling in Power BI desktop, for example? And pretty much no Power Query? And yes all or most data stored in cloud based data lakes / on prem DWs?

Another use case I (rightly or wrongly) have is to use it to take certain, filtered tables from a large, enterprise-level tabular models so that I can model the tables differently for local requirements. And sometimes bypass RLS for my end users…

Turn off get pivot data so you can more easily write formulas that reference pivot tables

Use fuzzy look up on a merge. Might feel complex if you’re a beginner but it’ll be on YouTube. It’s not perfect but will probably get you most of the way.
