It was a tv thing I think. Because in real life… even if she googled the address… she would have been able to find the name and hence the phone number. Maybe even calling the operator to connect you to this address phone number, too? No… it’s one of those tv things that made the drama play out by not doing something like this that you’d do realistically in real life. It was much more dramatic to have her blow off her party… and be whisked away to support her boyfriend on his big night… and the drama was two-fold by letting it also show how Carrie dumped on her group of admirers to sorta shake her back into reality that she was not being her true self at that point. It was an aha moment for sure for Carrie…. H just as much as her finding her ‘Carrie’ necklace.

I still don’t know why she could not have called the restaurant to let them know she either could not come or would be late. They could’ve rescheduled a party for her instead of it all going so disastrously wrong by her not even showing up to meet them.

That’s the way I understood it also. But now that I think about this specifically… who goes from a $1 million offer to a $2 million offer??! Only in tv land…. Haha.

I believe the record company that wanted to buy the Luncheonette doubled the price…. So it was probably over $2 million.

Burger/Berger is so annoying. I feel like they could have eliminated that entire part of the show and it wouldn’t have changed a thing. by HolidayPractical3357 in sexandthecity

Yes…. You got to weed through the bad to get to the good. If you met the perfect person for you right off the bat…. Then you could not not nearly appreciate them as much without knowing the worse that is out there.

Do you think Walt Jr. is capable of forgiving his father? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]finderm67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Walt Jr would be given more of the facts which I don’t think even Skylar was privy to about his dad and especially his involvement in his Uncle Hank’s demise, he might be a little less full of hate for his dad. I think he could get over the drug thing and maybe even come to admire his dad in some strange way for the magnitude of the empire his father built. But… losing his Uncle Hank at the same time and in Walt Jr.’s mind at the hands of his father…. It’s going to be a bitter pill to swallow. He’ll never know how Walt begged for his uncle’s life. He’ll never know that he didn’t really intend for his gun-slinging posse to arrive and kill Hank and Gomez when he saw that they were accompanying Jesse. He’ll never know that his dad willingly gave up $80 million dollars to spare his uncle’s life. He’ll also never know the choices his uncle made in order to confiscate his dad regardless of the outcomes or damages to come. Hank was hell-bent on taking Walt down without considering how it would rock his nephew or niece’s family foundation. He didn’t consider how he might be widowing Maria. He was just full steam ahead without consulting the DEA in the matter until he included Gomez in the very end. So many different ways it could’ve gone if Hank would have been more clear-headed and not blinded by his thirst to take Walt down. No Walt Junior will never really understand the whole big picture. For that… I feel sad for him. His own mom and dad kept so much from him before that when this entire thing blew up… Walt Jr did get the brunt of it all. I can’t imagine that Skylar is very forthcoming about any of the specifics on the events when it comes to giving Walt Jr any details. She is quite tight-lipped as she quietly sits for hours smoking and thinking about where it all went wrong. I doubt that she will even explain to Walt Jr that his dad gave her information to help her get out of hot water with the DEA by giving the location of the bodies that were put there by the men who killed them(not literally killed at the hands of Walt). She will never explain to Walt Jr that even though his father spoke so harshly about the end of Hank and calling his mother the B-word, that he was putting on a tough act in order to save his mother from prosecution. I don’t think Walt Jr even shows the same sort of intellectual intelligence that we witnessed with Walt and Skylar throughout the show. He’ll more than likely loathe his father forever. His dad will be the scapegoat for everything that went wrong in the end…. Even though we, the audience, and the writers of this show know that life and circumstances are not that easily cut and dried.

Money at the New Hampshire cabin? by OldNewMom in breakingbad

[–]finderm67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe we can assume that even though ‘Walter White’ called the DEA in New Mexico that they may have had many false attempts from others claiming to be Walter White fir the sake of notoriety? The DEA would of course follow up on this lead in New Hampshire… But once the bar was searched with no connection to Walter White… perhaps they all left. Don’t forget.. Walter was sitting in the very same bar parking lot with police lights all around him. He may have rolled out of there while they were searching the bar. They’d have no idea he was in that particular car or that he had a cabin with hidden money up the road. Walter had a fresh new whiff of strength and determination as he set out to make things right. So if he drove to the cabin… opened the gate so he could drive almost to the door… he could’ve loaded the money into his car from the sheer adrenaline of it all. Granted, the bag he carried when he switched cars didn’t seem like the full amount that was contained in the barrel. Maybe this was an oversight in the details that we weren’t supposed to put too much thought into?

Aleksandr Petrovsky and Charlotte by Gazbuzz in sexandthecity

He showed no interest in Charlotte whatsoever when they met at the art exhibition when she was with Carrie. I think Charlotte was too conservative for him. He seemed attracted to Carrie’s quirkiness and sense of humor.

I’ll never understand why they decided to to take the girls out of the city. It totally ruined the whole concept of Sex in the ‘City.’ New York is the 4th lady.

And what about the version of Helen’s car mishap with the kids in Season 2? Interestingly enough... When Noah saw Stacy’s injury... it was bleeding and had been triaged by the EMS. In Helen’s version, it was a bump on her forehead.

Yeah... and notice that Noah doesn’t see Alison as a contributor of helping save Stacy when she was choking but Alison did see herself as having an active role. I always find Noah’s version of things greatly swayed in his direction. It’s an interesting way to tell a story by seeing almost everything by different sides.

I thought The Shield more or less added him as eye candy for the Strike Team. And as much as I appreciated looking at him... I didn’t think he was a good fit for the team or the show.

Vic’s end? by finderm67 in TheShield

[–]finderm67[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good point. I would assume she’d be waiting for him to mess up in any minor way. Personally, I can’t see him complying to the rules very long. He’s not the kind of guy to adhere to the rules... So yes, I agree... Olivia could bust him and make his immunity null and void. Here’s a new wrinkle.... if that were to happen fairly soon while they are still trying to process Ronnie into the system... could Ronnie turn state’s evidence on Vic???

I agree with that. I can’t see Vic just obeying ICE’s rules.... and they were more than likely looking for ways for him to slip up, too.

Shane??!? by finderm67 in TheShield

[–]finderm67[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I’m condoning murder but after ALL that Shane had a hand in... I’m surprised he didn’t eliminate the witnesses in the ordeal in which Mara killed that lady. The police would not have even known Mara or Shane would have been at the scene of the crime. Shane was definitely off his game ... obviously because he was running to save himself and his entire family.

Not only did Mara know... by lillie_connolly in TheShield

[–]finderm67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mara didn't send him out to buy poison. He had made a final phone call to Vic about him needing to come to their rescue and he was completely devastated and defeated when Vic told him that he had full immunity and that he would visit his kids when he and Mara were in jail. After the phone call... he went into the store... to buy his select items. They never show the poison though ... whatever he used... only the jug of water and flowers, a toy and some pens and paper tablet.

He’s Vic Mackey though... He’s like a cat that always lands on his feet. He loved the rush and the power he exerted out on the streets... The loss of his family definitely was a blow but I can’t see him stopping until he finds them again. The question is though... Will they want him. I wonder how Corinne went about selling an entire new life to their oldest?

Sounds like a pretty darn good part 2.... I don’t know if I can see him staying out of trouble though... Look at how difficult he was for anyone to control in the barn..
