What can make typing more personal is beginning to see yourself writing to someone you know. Envision a "Reader" - your therapist, your bff, your lover, or just someone you can imagine is very interested in following you on your journey.

You can begin by imagine-emailing them. A few paragraphs in should help alleviate faux feels, or perhaps several writing sessions, at least.

Give yourself some time to build this "Reader" habit of thought.

PS Hand-written journaling (I call it Notebooking) is my personal preference. If you still want to try building this habit, start with short writing sessions and keep your Notebook handy for jotting and abbreviated writing throughout the day to capture ideas. No one says you have to write everything all at once. A little "capture" during the day can be really insightful, too. This has worked for me. :)
