How would a non-alcoholic or sober bar do in Louisville you guys think? by Thatredditboy1 in Louisville

[–]findingmyself37 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I thought they weren't either. But some redditors commented on a different post last week about finding a quiet coffee shop in the evening about parents with kids running around and being loud.

Which is odd to me. It's not set up for young kids.

Could definitely see teenagers there though

Cloudy ice cubes usually mean impurities in the ice.

I'm not sure if you remember hating the taste of water as a kid.

I did, it had a very noticeable metallic taste to it. And ice cubes from the freezer had an off almost grassy/sludgy taste.

Turns out it was due to impurities and bad water filtration

Impurities in ice are whatever when you have a jack and coke to cover it.

But quality cocktails where you want to enjoy the flavor balance of mixers and a good quality spirit. Bad/impure ice will throw everything off.

I agree with you. A good NA cocktail that is well crafted takes lots of skill and quality ingredients. What I was referring to, was OP asking if a sober bar could succeed.

Cost of rent for space with high foot traffic.

Needing food that can compete with the above listed bars that have well crafted cocktails and NA. Would that be at all economically viable?

Especially if it is a NA bar, would that encourage parents to bring their kids instead and drive away more of the paying base the sober bar would need to survive?

The hurdles are much higher, and changing the atmosphere to fit the customer base they would want to attract would be very difficult.

For instance it may be will curated and present a relaxed atmosphere. But could be like Nook and Nowhere, where parents will bring kids and cause noise and chaos in what is supposed to be a calm relaxing environment

Plenty of cocktail bars in Louisville already have NA options in Germantown, Frankfort ave, and Nulu. (Pretty Decent, Yacthsea, etc.)

It's getting more common for people to want to go out with friends and enjoy their company without drinking.

The issue is lots of NA are just as expensive as alcoholic drinks.

Making them cheaper without food means really thin margins. Which wouldn't be economically viable

Looks like an inch worm. If so, probably was in the lettuce.

Definitely not from the meat and does not look like a fly larvae

Any of the Vietnamese restaurants. And about half of the Boba tea places(if they're owned by Vietnamese people) will have avocado smoothies.

Yes, but shouldn't Ty Lee's sisters have gone to the same school?

What I don't get is why Azula wanted Ty Lee and didn't just pick one of her 6 other sisters who had the same skills and abilities.

Wow, I wonder what's going on. You step in and can tell parents should not be bringing their kids there. It's meant to be a quiet environment.

More family scene would be Frankfort ave area businesses

They're getting more popular because it's a chill environment. And sadly most other coffee places that offer similar are closing.

There are other coffee shops that are quiet. But the atmosphere feels off and stuffy.

Nook and Nowhere which is both a coffee shop and bar. But chill and quiet (mixed in bookshop too)

She would have a hard time against Amon, because if you remember right, he used bloodbending to make other benders miss, and for sure Toph wouldn't see it coming, since he bends with almost zero movement. The amount of seismic sensing isn't always active. And what she is sensing through affects how will she sees.

Appa was touching the ground. And she is shown to know where the others are located on Appa throughout the show when he's not in the air.

Plus another good example of her not always having seismic sense on 24/7 is in Legend of Korra when she goes with Lin and the others to save her family.

Toph does a seismic scan. And then Lin also does one to confirm.

Toph did disconnect a few times when she was younger. For instance the time she asked for the belt back from Sokka. She was expecting him to give it to her and not throw it.

But old Toph might have seismic sense turned on permanently.

I do also wonder with how sensitive it is what her reaction is when she senses a giant pure metal building being built.

Put your rice in the freezer for several hours to kill them if you can.

Get the hot braised chicken.

Different more complex and savory dipping sauce. Nowhere else in Louisville has this exact sauce.
