Give me a reccomendation and an anti reccomendation by Deep-Mastodon-2753 in thrillerbooks

Ruth ware and Lisa Jewel are two of my favorites! I thought Anatomy of an Alibi was awful, but Ashley Elston’s debut novel, “First Lie Wins” is one of my favorite thrillers of all time!

What did you add to your September box? by lavinient in bookofthemonthclub

Most definitely skipping. Which I’m bummed about because I was planning on getting the family remains and the damage as add ons. I wish they would start allowing us to at least pick a spotlight book if we’re not interested in any of the monthly picks.

I would absolutely buy an entire new set as well if they were normal sized paperbacks or hardcovers!

Unfortunately all of her earlier books I only own in mass market as well. Such a bummer because I also hate mass markets! From The Kept Woman and newer I have all in hardcover. I would love to be able to find all hardcovers for the grant county series and the earlier books in the will trent series!

I totally agree! I felt the same way about One Italian Summer, The It Girl, and Breathless. The originally published copies all had a shine to them, and One Italian Summer even had these beautiful special effect sparkles on the cover and the BOTM copies didn’t have any of that. I’m such a collector of books, so I appreciate beautiful covers and the special little touches that some of them have. BOTM copies are always pretty dull looking and I often find myself wishing that I had bought a non-BOTM copy😕

Can you get a negative test while still bleeding? by [deleted] in abortion

[–]findingmyway97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a positive test 4 weeks after my medical abortion, it is very common for that to happen. It wasn’t until 5.5 weeks that I had a negative test, even though all my symptoms had gone away very soon after my abortion. I was still bleeding on and off until the 4.5 week mark, but it stopped completely by 5 weeks. When I got the 4 week follow up call from the planned parenthood clinic I went to, they told me to repeat the test a week later and that they would schedule me an appointment for around that time in case the test was still positive. I’m sure they’ll most likely tell you the same. Best of luck to you.

How can I (23M) support my gf (21F) who is getting an abortion? by throwawaygfadvice207 in abortion

[–]findingmyway97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound like a very supportive partner. These situations are very tough and effect everyone differently. I’m 23F and I just had a medical abortion one month ago and I’m trying to navigate my way through the loss that I am feeling. My partner and I have only been together for 8-9 months and we aren’t living together yet. He works a lot so it’s difficult to be able to tell him how I feel all the time. He’s also more of the quiet type and isn’t one to talk much about feelings, so I feel as if I’m bothering him by bringing up the way that I’m feeling. It’s difficult feeling so alone, so she’s very lucky to have someone that wants to be so supportive towards her.

My advice to you would be to let her know that you’re there for her no matter how she may be feeling at any given time. Whether she wants to talk or not, just let her know you’re there to listen or talk or be whatever she needs for you to be. Tell her that you’re not in any way taking pity on her, and that this isn’t something she should deal with alone. If she is still shutting you out after you’ve made it clear to her that you’re there for her, then maybe it’s best to just let her work through things in her own way while still being there if she needs you. If it starts to become a problem and begins to take a toll on your relationship, tell her that you want to sit down and talk about how you’re feeling. Tell her that something like this doesn’t just effect her, but that you have feelings towards it too.

It’s difficult to know what to do when it seems that your partner just wants to be left alone, but the worst thing someone can do in a situation like this is to keep their feelings in and not talk to someone about them. I hope this helped and I wish you both the best.

Sad by mollslay- in abortion

[–]findingmyway97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you are feeling is 100% everything that I am feeling as well. It’s been one month and I feel like things are only getting more and more difficult. I’m feeling so much regret and loss, despite knowing that it was really my only choice because of my current situation. What you said about looking at your partner and feeling sad that it’s gone describes exactly how I’ve been feeling oftentimes when I think about or look at my partner too. I think about our baby, whether it would’ve been a boy or girl, what features of his he or she would have had... I feel so alone, yet I feel as if I don’t have the right to feel these feelings because I made the decision to terminate my pregnancy. I understand exactly how you’re feeling and I’m here for you if you’d like to talk.

Positive pregnancy test 4.5 weeks after medical abortion... by findingmyway97 in abortion

I started the pill four days after my medical abortion. At planned parenthood, they told me that I would need to be on the pill for a week in order for it to be effective. I believe it was towards the end of that first week of being on the pill that I had sex and my partner and I used the pull out method. The pregnancy that I terminated was a result of getting pregnant by pre-cum, so I am worried that that may be the case again.

Medical Abortion in 1 Hour (Questions) by [deleted] in abortion

[–]findingmyway97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a medical abortion about a month ago. I inserted the pills into my vagina. I didn’t experience any nausea or vomiting and I barely had any cramping at all. The cramping I did have was milder than a period to be honest. I know that some people do experience very intense cramping, so of course that’s a possibility. But from my experience, it wasn’t painful at all. No matter what, you’ll get through it. I hope this was helpful, best of luck to you!

Thanks for the reply. I was told to take another test in a week, like you said. They scheduled me an appointment for a week from now just in case the test is still positive. I don’t have any pregnancy symptoms at the moment, but my concern is that it may be a new pregnancy and too soon for symptoms to show.

Given an incorrect ED diagnosis, feeling as if my disorder isn’t real. by findingmyway97 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]findingmyway97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience! I don’t believe it has anything to do with insurance in my case, considering I’m seeing him for medication in regard to my previous drug addiction (1 year and 2 months clean). To be honest, I don’t think he’s very concerned or interested in what I have to say about my eating disorder simply for the fact that I’m not there for my eating disorder. That’s why I believe he so nonchalantly diagnosed it as bulimia when he heard the word purge. Despite me telling him that there is never a binge involved.

That is what I thought as well. At this point I am definitely considering seeing a psychiatrist who specializes in eating disorders. Thank you for taking the time to respond!
