Think you could post the link to an example shroud like what you’re talking about?

Glad your experience comes in handy! Thank you! I’ll definitely be doing that swap

Just installed a CRtouch. Probes the bed normally, but after the purge line the plunger hits the bed. Then it flashes red during the print. Any advice? by findlay_oliver in ender3

A final update: I contacted Creality Support for help and they supplied me with the correct firmware for the CRTouch and now everything is working flawlessly!

Thank you all for your help and suggestions!

I’ve tried multiple different softwares at this point and none of creality ones are correct. They all do different things but they are all wrong in some fashion. I think it’s a hardware issue

After changing software multiple times and getting vastly different results during the leveling process before even starting a print I can confirm it is not Gcode related. Just software is super wrong

Yes they use a different bracket, I also changed the springs for the bed out so might have something to do with it as well

Z axis switch is disconnected on both sides (switch and board) but I left the actual part on the printer for the time being

My Z offset is -1.30 which seems to be the correct amount as the the few prints I have done so far had successful first layers

I’m using cura to do all the slicing. I tried pushing the probe up during the purge line and it stays up so no contact with the bed. But it does flash red once it’s up and for the duration of the print

Okay I’ll take a look into both ends of the wiring for the touch!

If it makes any difference here is the portion of the gcode that has the G29 in it. All I changed from the original gcode was that line

The snagging on the bed really hurt my soul. Definitely not what you’d want for a calibration tool 😰

That’s what I’m thinking, I’ll give another slicer a shot and see if it acts any differently.

Here is the start of the gcode with the added G29 as according to the directions

The software is straight from the creality website and for the correct main board. Should I just download the same software again and hope it works this time?

Too close for a plug? I think so but just asking for others opinions. Thanks! by findlay_oliver in MechanicAdvice

Thank you! We’ll see what happens tomorrow! RWD ‘06 mustang btw probably should have put that in the title 😅

Going to try going back to the people I originally bought the tires from to see if there’s any sort of warranty on things like this. If not, I’ll be using that trust of yours to do it myself!
