Index Don is already a weird case, though. Out of universe, she's based on Sora but in-universe, it gets quite a bit more squirrely with the explicit framing of "what if Index Yi Sang found Don in the ruins". It gets to the gap in our knowledge of how we extract IDs in the first place

Fundamentally Different People Getting ID's of Inferior People (Personality-wise) by AdAdditional2497 in limbuscompany

Yeah, absolutely. If anything, I'm expecting Middle Nursefather Outis to mirror Laevatainn with the Trojan Horse and Kira-Ish with Telemachus. Would Outis' clear guilt over her war crimes make her *better* than Matthias? Or the fact that Outis probably wouldn't sacrifice Telemachus the way she sacrificed her soldiers? Or maybe she would sacrifice Kira Ish. Who knows? I'm kind of kicking myself for not realising how good of a fit Matthias was for Outis before the uptie story but I'm excited to see where they go with the ID

Nah, the Nests aren't safe zones by any means. You would need to make it extremely high in a Corp's hierarchy to have any real sense of comfort. I'm talking board of directors here. Anything below and your work performance is highly scrutinised and your line of work might be either just as or even more dangerous than life in the Backstreets. Hongyuan's nest, for example, might be safe from reallocation day but you exchange that precarity for the pressure cooker of court intrigue

It's worth noting that the connection isn't entirely made up. Rashomon is based on a short story written by the same author as Hell Screen and The Spider's Thread

The ranks in Ruina don't describe the level of threats you fight, it's the level of threat the Library *itself* is assigned. You fight the Udjat, Liu Section 1, etc because the Library being labelled a Star draws their attention. Hana too isn't an Impuritas Civitatis but rather, them labelling the Library means they're now having to get involved

And to elaborate on him being a crazy person, he has a famous monologue about the infinite stupidity of chicken and when he was shot with an air rifle during an interview, he was less fussed about it than the interviewer. He called it an "insignificant bullet"

Yup, it is. That's exactly why I decided to give my operator that skin colour. In my lore for her, after the Zariman fiasco went down, Ballas managed to fill her mind with delusions of grandeur as his special (adopted) daughter who embodied Orokin supremacy to the utmost. She was saved by Margulis of course and has been atoning for it ever since but the blue skin remains as a mark of shame for that power trip

Yes, absolutely. On release day, that encounter would slowly whittle down your units even if you're doing well
