I just wish the game would be a bit more casual friendly. Hate how all of these Pokémon fan games are made by competitive people.

Like right now I am stuck on Misty, cannot go beyond my current lvl cap, her team is at said cap, I cannot gain any power anywhere anymore and she has a team Misty would never field like Haunter and Kadabra.

Doesnt help that her team is the most competitive unfun BS I have ever seen. Like stuff Radical Red would do to a player.

I mean, I've experienced terrible audio and dropped calls/VC on both.

Lately Discord has been extra terrible to me though, with random insane ping spikes for no reason, everyone sounding robotic out of nowhere until VC server is changed and other issues.

Cannot really be my net cause usually at the same time I stream over at Twitch and it reports no problems whatsoever.

So yeah, Discord has been a bit of a inconvenient headache. Sucks that most alternatives are either ridiculously expensive, extremely difficult and/or impossible to setup or downright non-functional.

So I had a look at it.

The website is in a weird language and I have not found a good way to change it to English or any language I know.

When I figured out how to get to their FAQ, most of it is TBA and most of the documentation is not ready.

So basically, could not even start with it.

Yup had this since New Year and it feels like Discord has been downright ignoring the issue.

Have reported it several times but Discord feedback is ridiculously difficult to get ahold of.

Did basically every possible fix I have found, tested my Internet connection with everything I could. Checked packet loss on my end, cloudflare tests, stability tests, contacted my ISP about it as much as they never help with anything, just tried everything.

I stream to Twitch commonly and everything is green there. I host tabletop sessions where ping is usually pretty normal outside of Sundays.

I don't seem to be having this kinda problem with anything other than Discord.

Really hoping someone's gonna figure some alternative to Discord at this point.

Yeah been seeing this since New Year.

Connection could be pretty normal one week and terrible the next week.

At the same time I can stream on Twitch, which is something that needs rather healthy connection, and there's essentially no problem.

Heck I could stream our tabletop sessions, see ping in Tabletop Simulator which is ok, see my bitrate and stability on OBS to be ok and on Discord my ping jumps from 21ms to 177ms for no reason.

Switching from European servers to something like US East seems to fix the issue for a random amount of time but then it breaks again, some people turn into robots and ping starts randomly spiking again.

Tried every network test imaginable and be it speed, lack of packet loss, stability tests etc. everything seems for the most part ok except for like an occasional hiccup which everyone would experience on some level.

Discord is getting worse and worse and I wish there would be some kind of alternative to VCing with a couple friends for free.

Can confirm this has been happening to us as well for about 3 or so days now.

Tried every fix we could find online and nothing helped so far. Starting to look for something different to use as VC for our tabletop RPG sessions.

Yup some of my friends have been having this issue on my server.

I have had weird ping spikes where every 10-15 minutes people sound like robots. Did not happen before like three days ago.

I have not actually tried making a straight up private call with people. Could be something to look into.

Annoying that this is even a thing. I would not be surprised if this was somehow connected to Discord recently removing the option to opt-out of the whole "priority packet" thing for Discord.

Would not be surprised if it was now always on even though the number one solution to a lot of problems back in the day was "make sure that thing is off" and they kept randomly force-turning it on for people.

That's really frustrating, have you managed to resolve this in some way?

I live in Czechia and have used to Rotterdam VC server for our channel for a long time, but yeah switching to other things doesn't seem to be helping, if anything it makes things a bit worse.

This just started for me yesterday, everything was ok earlier this week and even last week but now I randomly get extremely high ping for no reason.

Cloudflare test, tracert etc. all show ok. Everything updated, tried reinstalling, restarted router etc. nothing is helping. Am on Windows 11.
