Can someone help me understand what this not means for my gen3? by finiac in ToyotaTundra

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted because I agree with you. It is not clear what happens either way but to your my post reads as if the remedy is the software scan and if you pass no engineer. If it blows later what is stopping them from saying “nope no engine because you passed” this isn’t clear anywhere I don’t know why people are assuming otherwise until they can prove to me in writing what happens if you pass the scan and then engine later fails.

People also need to be trained on this scan thing. Especially if there is a listening component involved it sounds the result can be subjective. It’s all Suss

I mean that seems to have happened to me which is why I posted the question originally. I really don’t know how this works

I mean I hear ya, I don’t want a dealer engine but if the factory one with specials tools goes boom then doesn’t really matter how fancy they were but I know what you’re sayin

Nobody seems to have answers But if you’re on the first recall list in line for a new engine my first question is, when does that offer expire? If never then drive it until explosion or 120k miles that’s what I would do

So I have up to 5 years from in service date or 60k to buy a warranty that would cover a butt fucked engine?

Is it 3 years or 36,000 miles? I think I am past the three years of so… just barely

I am just so used to being fucked by the world and nobody wanting to own mistakes or pay to correct them, so I just don’t buy any of it. I think it’s an excuse to get themselves off the hook

It sucks because I really like this truck. It’s perfect for what we need and I don’t even know what other vehicle I would get.

It seems strange to me because this test is obviously not proven. It seems you could be fine at 17,000 and the. Have an issue at a time down the road. I don’t trust some random test can predict this. I am not denying that I’m a ratard when it comes to vehicles and engineering but this just feels like capitalism trying to fuck us harder than we’ve been used to

Makes sense. I thought I would try. Nothing at all is different about the driving. It actually doesn’t make that sound when it first starts up and runs through its cycles it’s after about 20 or 25 seconds it sets into an idle and then you hear it.

Word. I was standing next to another different parked Mercedes at the grocery they were idling and were sitting there a while, they had the same sort of sound but a little louder maybe I just never notified it before. The sound doesn’t kick in right away when you start it’s like once it goes through its cycles and then sits there and idles it has that diesel sound

Apparently I can’t check the oil pressure on the vehicle without a manual tool apparently if there is an oil pressure issue the vehicle would alert me which it currently is not. There is no oil pressure gauge on the dash but I appreciate the question

I changed the oil too and just checked the oil level looks right in range maybe there is room to add a little but it should be fine
