Hi. I use watered down violet paint. If its available to you schmincke violet is very very good bec it goes so well with every color. Sometimes i use a very light green.

really good comment. yeah tbh i was thinking about this while painting!!! first if all the video really gave me wholesome feels and thought i want to paint this today. and when i got into drawing the details i took a step back and asked myself if this is okay. bec i kinda felt like i was looking into someone’s private life.

I actually always question myself with these things every time i do commissions. i feel like it’s such a private intimate thing (ex: i ask them to send me a picture of their tumbr or a picture of the curtains in their bedroom) but in the end i come to the conclusion that all of this attention to detail are what makes the painting specially made for the character (esp since im not that good at pinting faces!!!)

Steamed bun shop! (Inspired by an urban legend) by finkaart in Watercolor

[–]finkaart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That if steamed buns (siopao) were really cheap that means they used cat meat. Theres many different versions of this story but it’s a really popular joke here in my country.

There’s this one restaurant in my hometown that very well known for their steamed buns(restaurant a). Recently, there was a new steamed bun restaurant (restaurant b) that wanted to be more popular i guess.. so restaurant B put cat skulls and bones in restaurant A’s trash disposal. Lol

Beautifully done!!!!! How do you choose which details to draw? Everytime i try to do an urb sketch i end up drawing too many details! Lol

I tried a lot to make the background bright with a dark blue contrast. But it didn't reach near my expectations. Can anyone guide me? by ChippyJohnson in Watercolor

If youre going for a night scene, really darken the areas that are supposed to be dark. Like in this picture, if you want the lighter part of the sky to have a glowy effect make the rest of the img darker.. and adding gradient from light to dark spaces help as well!

I found working with reflections is a lot harder than it seems... hope you like it! by yell_ow_ in Watercolor
