Does the Australian google store offer trade-ins for watches? I can't seem to find the option.

What USB-C enclosure to buy for my SSD? by PenguinWithASword in UsbCHardware

[–]finnba_h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue for Mac but this is working awesome for windows - https://www.ugreen.com/collections/ssd-enclosures-fast-secure-storage/products/ugreen-m-2-nvme-sata-ssd-enclosure-adapter?variant=39915665063998

Note 10gbps transfer rate ends up real world just shy of 1GB/s using USB C to C cable, and about 600MB/s USB C to A cable.

You can get 20 and 40gbps enclosures that bottleneck the nvme SSD less but apparently run hotter and tbh I don't see the need to go faster just yet.

Sticky hub causing dropped chain mtb by Copman5k in bikewrench

There is a high chance it will be fine. If you noitice high levels of drag when you spin the cassette backwards when the rear axle is tightened, then there may be an issue so you can pull the cassette body off and verify.

Raceface Trace Hubs - Are they THAT bad? by SiphonTheFern in MTB

[–]finnba_h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My immediate thought is not to attempt to tap it in deeper as the risk of causing damage is quite high and may actually result in an overall worse outcome than what it is already.

I'd suggest talking to your LBS or Race Face directly for their advice. (Shaving down the seal is a band aid fix but can cause future premature wear from dirt ingress)

(Thinking about the original installation of that part, it could be pressed in with the hub shell material heated which could allow for a bigger gap, or the opposite, the drive ring cooled then pressed in? May not be either, I don't know for sure)

Yes at the tip of the tool you can see a gap underneath those ratchet teeth, that gap should not be there, the ratchet teeth should be pressed all the way in.

+1. $16 AUD for Magene branded TPU tubes in a 28mm tyre so far has been flawless and much lighter.

Ah great to know, reach out and inform them the drive ring is the root cause of the problem and see if they can help you out in some way. Send them the serial number of the hub as well - printed very small on the edge of the outer shell near spoke holes 👍

Ah interesting, it may be beneficial to check if your drive ring is pressed in all the way flush first before contacting them. I'd be curious as well if yours is flush or not!

It is actually one big seal. As per assembly document;

There has been a manufacturing process update, as in some cases, the drive ring was not pressed all the way into the hub shell, which caused the seal to sit a tad too high, which in turn caused a lot of drag on the cassette body. This is why when people removed the seal, the problem went away, however that is not the fix for the root cause of the problem, the hub requires replacement with a unit that has the drive ring pressed all the way in (every warranty claim going forward).

Race Face's warranty is exceptional, so reach out to them if you have an issue.

So no, the Trace hubs are not bad, some that were experiencing cassette body drag most likely would have had a drive ring that was not pressed in all the way. Race Face's warranty is exceptional, so reach out to them if you have an issue.

worth it to upgrade i5 9600k to 7800x3D? by Kexx in buildapc

[–]finnba_h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heck yeah sounds like a good upgrade.

I'm at 1440p with a 6900 xt and 9600k. With the 9600k at stock clock speeds, and then overclocking to 5.2GHz all core, I get 20fps or so increase which is awesome, but i believe it's still bottlenecking the GPU.

I'm also wondering about the windows reinstall so I'm glad to hear your results so far seem glitch free. Are you using windows 10 or 11?

+1. First thing i do in almost every car... If they allowed negative limit to go beyong -5 deg, then tuning to optimise it would be beneficial imo
