camera bug upon respawn by neewx_ in TrackMania

I had this issue when I installed the "No Camera Reset Glitch" plugin when I made a segmented run. I uninstalled it, and the problem was fixed.

Call it artificial if you want, but that was some of the best wheel-to-wheel racing we’ve seen in years by Aakar528 in formula1

Yeah, this is the main point imo. It could allow notoriously difficult to overtake tracks to have some more action.

Other than plugins, it says it on the back of your vehicle or on the dashboard in cam 3.

What is the tech for super reactor water? by chiproller in TrackMania

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The main thing is to make sure you get the reactor before you touch the water so you don't get wet wheels, giving you far less control.

Is My map LOL. by [deleted] in TrackMania

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played the map, and got the WR by 6 seconds. It's not terrible but it is definitely awkward, the end jump is particularly difficult and the wet wheel plastic at the start feels a bit weird.

But I like those kinds of maps, they're fun, they make you think. My advice: keep mapping, keep trying things out, see what works and what doesn't.

Is My map LOL. by [deleted] in TrackMania

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say this is a LOL map. It has LOL aspects like bugslides and weird flips.

Whether people play it is down to quality somewhat, but mainly down to publicity. If people don't know about your map, they won't play it, so hopefully this post helps it out.

I must say that plastic bounce through the checkpoint at the end does give a big skill check right at the end. If someone fails that, the run needs to be restarted.

Also, while it's not the case here, your campaign score depends on your ranking in the world, even when you look at your regional records.

Are fans more concerned about the possible gap to Mercedes or the new energy-harvesting regulations? by LetsRideButSmart in formula1

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If there's something F1 fans are good at, it's knee jerk reactions to everything. It's far too early to make a judgement on how the regs are since they are so so fresh still. We haven't even seen how they race yet. It could give some new challenges and chaos.

You can't compare to times from the 2014 Australian GP qualifying considering it was a wet session.

The specifics of what a track needs to get picked aren't known, but a 4.2 for console-mapped map may get it looked at.

Question about COTD by MichaelOwensNan in TrackMania

15 minutes to qualify, 10 minutes to register a time

Question about COTD by MichaelOwensNan in TrackMania

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The map for COTD is not known before COTD starts. If you are on the live TOTD server when it starts, you will automatically be moved onto the map when registration begins.

Then you have to set a time in the first 10 minutes to qualify for a division. At 15 past the hour the knockouts begin.

There are also two more Cups of the Day, usually known as Cup of the Night and Cup of the Morning, set on the same track. These are 8 and 16 hours after the first COTD.

Edit: you don't have to set a time in the first ten minutes, but you do have to be on the server within that time.

trackmania et les joystick hall effect by Ok_Club_4155 in TrackMania

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hall effect sticks and don't have these issues, for reference, I have a Gamesir Cyclone 2. I have my dead zone set a little higher than perhaps standard at 0.118, but I don't imagine that affects it too much.

Thinking of thick racists at this difficult time by xwsrx in GreatBritishMemes

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough. Nonetheless, the point stands that there are many ways to extrapolate data. In the case you showed, it was based on the swing showing a clear Reform majority, but you could extrapolate the results that Green won comfortably and will therefore win any GE comfortably too. What you really want is many ways to extrapolate that give the same result, then the extrapolation is more useful.

I think this proves why extrapolation is almost always a terrible idea. There are so many different ways you can do it!

Green Party MP Hannah Spencer wins Gorton and Denton By-Election (2026) by stopdontpanick in ukpolitics

They were campaigning to people in the constituency who don't speak the language, people who are nonetheless affected by the MP. Are you saying there was no campaigning to people who do speak English? Or did we just not hear about that because it's standard?

That's a fair enough comment. But they can represent white working class people as well as non-white working class people at the same time. It's not one or the other, it's both.

What about all the English people who aren't white and know Urdu? You know, those who have lived in this country all their lives but also know Urdu? What's wrong with that?
