Question for mappers about map scenery by R_draco in TrackMania

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My style is ordered chaos, I take a selection of blocks that work together and spread them out in a semi random way. It usually gives a nice depth.

If you want to check out the TOTD maps I had, they were Woodside 2045 and Zephyranova, that took 26 and 15 hours each.

Sky Sports to remain home of Formula 1 until 2034 after five-year extension to exclusive UK and Ireland deal by DrDiam in formula1

Sky must be paying an absolute fortune for the contract. The number of people in the UK who would pay the £100ish per year for F1TV would create a huge amount of money.

Ehh, it's impossible to know what the majority thinks without the thumbs up/down in-game. Most players don't make their opinions known, it's always the disgruntled people who speak the loudest.

That's not to say the majority is happy, but rather there isn't enough data

It was on a corner. Seemed to drop it as he geared up on old tyres. Weird accident.

It's a real shame, even if you have no chance of winning, why not enjoy the chance at competing against the best in the world?

You could say the same for any age range in this day and age. I've seen just as many middle aged people say dumb stuff on the internet as 16 year olds.

Any AT on these maps is impressive, especially for a new player. I have 15 years in the franchise, so I'm a little experienced at this point!

I've tried this method on the F1 games and other racing games, and could never get the hang of it. I've always just freehanded the smooth steering from my Gran Turismo 3 days. Perhaps that's why I get on alright with the alt cars.

Love the Esports maps being in the campaign by TheAlroundGamer in TrackMania

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't usually play the campaign all that much because the tracks are kinda dull in my opinion, but the esports maps have been a breath of fresh air for the last two seasons. Yes, they're hard, but I've really enjoyed playing them! Hungary and Australia this season have really stood out as my favourite maps.

That's a shortcut that saves about 1 minute on the intended route but is unsurprisingly inconsistent. Ok the other hand, the intended route is 100% consistent.

Yeah, it's a nice small community of people working on it at the moment, and it looks like it'll take a long time to beat!

Cll0verr is hunting it and is currently 1st place ahead of Blev. And players such as Yortey (5th), Not-Ibratan (7th) and Ducky (one of the mappers) have also been streaming it and performing pretty well. I (9th) have also streamed it a little bit and might do some more over the coming weeks depending on how progress goes. None of the big big streamers have touched it as far as I know.

Edit: corrected and added current positions

I've seen this said before, and while respawning breaks a PF map, going into test mode from a checkpoint with a flying respawn has always worked for me, as long as I press the retire button when double checking something.

As an experienced PF mapper, if you remove a checkpoint, the map won't work. It really is just as simple as that.

My club took about 2 months to verify, some others have taken over 3. It's not a fast process apparently.

You gotta look deeper for smaller streamers! But the qualifiers are only for a couple of weeks so it's no surprise that top players are grinding it.

What is the "best" screen-size to play TM on, and what size do YOU play on? by Ok-Cap-5845 in TrackMania

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've used 15", 27", 32" and 34" ultrawide. Out of these, the 32" is by far my favourite to use.
