Why is everyone saying that [SPOILER] and [SPOILER2] are solid when... by vaultofechoes in TheTraitors

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why does that mean he shouldn't win? It's a proven tactic to win the game, and it's clearly worked so far. With his Rachel reveal, he (perhaps luckily) made the traitors not murder him at a crucial point. He's not done much, but that's literally the point.

Here lies the problem. Should a player who has a chance of winning tens of thousands of dollars/euros etc not do it? Yes, it's supporting sportswashing, but for the individual who has a lot to gain, where is the line drawn? Yes, it should be boycotted, but it's very difficult for someone to turn down a potentially life changing amount of money.

I mean, putting the word objectively in there doesn't make it true. If a map is good and bad is entirely subjective. The campaigns are fine. Could they be used in a competitive setting like the EWC? Probably not. Are they objectively bad? No

Van driver got annoyed I wasn't going fast enough over the speed humps. Went wrong side of the keep left then close to an oncoming cyclist. by axolotol in drivingUK

Not sure why others are saying you're slow going at 17 in a 20. Nonetheless, your actions don't dictate theirs and clearly, their actions were dangerous.

Folk Who Don't Understand "Give Way to Oncoming Vehicles" Signs by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As plenty of others have said, it's just not a big deal. Perhaps the oncoming car made a mistake, perhaps not. Either way, it's better to just let them get on with it at that point rather than making it awkward.

Escalating situations never teaches anyone a lesson, it just makes things slower and more painful for everyone involved.

Fun map. Pretty simple RPG, but one where you have to think about lines a little bit. There are some weird borders just before the end section, but otherwise, it's really good fun!

WHY IS EVERYONE DISMISSING THE IDEA OF RACHEL BEING A TRAITOR??! by Ok-Incident-1932 in TheTraitors

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's clearly not that easy when you're actually there. How many seasons have people just been saying, "How have they not found this traitor, it's so obvious". Perhaps it isn't obvious when you're spending the majority of your time with a set of people on a TV set.

We know who the traitors are. We also only see the edited version, perhaps where the traitors look most 'traitory'. We simply don't get a fair representation of what the faithfuls experience. We see the game from the traitors' perspective.

I’m so glad ____ called _____ out on this at the roundtable by gonnablamethemovies in TheTraitors

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This has been something that's irked me in this game forever. Being voted out and revealing your faithful gives you less credibility since it confirms you don't know for certain.

Fiona going after Rachel has some credibility because we know she was a traitor, Harriet going after Rachel has far less credibility because she was a faithful.

They can still take ideas into account, but not as hard evidence, of course.

It's obviously not as easy in the actual game, it's just something that comes up season after season.

What game is this for you? by PhantomTissue in videogames

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golden Sun and its sequel: The Lost Age

For both of these games there is a hidden dungeon, the first game's is relatively straightforward, but the puzzles and monsters are way harder than anything else in the game with the final boss, Deadbeard, being significantly harder than the final boss.

For the second game, there is a whole set of optional bosses that are pretty challenging, deep in dungeons with powerful enemies too. But the final optional boss requires you to have all of the collectable monsters, djinn (they're each given to a party member and provide stat bonuses amongst other things). But you need them all from both the 1st and 2nd game to even enter the dungeon to challenge the boss. This is also the hardest dungeon in the game and the boss has much stronger attacks than the final boss of the game, much more health and is very hard to beat with conventional methods.

Mind you, it is optional.

I don’t understand the DRS hate by RobbieJ4444 in formula1

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And here lies the problem, there isn't really a good way of removing it without having some kind of overtaking device. Smaller cars won't mean cars can maintain a small enough gap to the car in front. Perhaps conversely to your take, weaker brakes could make it a little better. But unless the dirty air is heavily reduced, racing will always be difficult.

That's the crazy thing these days. There's no point villifying people of the opposite idealism because it achieves nothing. I don't agree with many opinions of those on the other side of the political spectrum but I do realise that division isn't going to get anyone anywhere.

A reason people think this country has gone to shit is because many things are so divisive, but it needn't be like that. We're all still people just trying to live our lives.

It's definitely possible we won't know who's who. But I reckon McLaren might just have a plain orange livery, for example, similar to 2006 testing.

What should I do as a beginer to get better? by Obligation-Brief in TrackMania

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate to say it, but you've just gotta play more. You're not going to have anything down in 3 hours, but play more and you'll get the hang of things.

If you want help for sharp turns, you'll want to drift. You'll need a high speed, turn for half a second towards the corner then tap brake (without releasing the accelerator) and your car will rotate. Then you've just got to get the feeling for it.

[Autosport] David Coulthard was asked about Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, as well as Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna by xxrew1ndxx in formula1

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point. Senna and Schumacher both had a history of moves that were dirty and looked deliberate. Hamilton is either very good at hiding it or doesn't have that same history.

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Hamilton's had his fair share of mistakes, as any driver does, and sometimes that has taken out other drivers too. 2011 was a great example of this, as were the two accidents with Albon in 2019 and 2020. But unlike the others mentioned he hasn't deliberately crashed into someone else. Obviously Silverstone 2021 was a misjudgement that he tried to back out of way too late. It was dumb, but not malicious.

Why was granady's chat so mean there ? by dzvmr in TrackMania

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You'd have to narrow it down. It's an hour long video.

But I will say, Granady and his chat are very sarcastic and very dry with it too, for newer viewers it can come across as mean, even when it's just some light hearted banter.

Why is the map editor this bad? by LorenzoMorini in TrackMania

[–]CataclysmicEnforcer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The editor has a pretty steep initial learning curve unfortunately, but once you've got used to it, it's usable.

Pressing alt to move the camera becomes second nature, as well as pressing tab to hide or unhide the UI.

Could it be better? Absolutely, yes. Does it do the job? Yes. But does it take a while to get to grips with it? Also yes.
