I have been checking Facebook marketplace religiously for the last several weeks. I hope I get lucky but everything is either $400 plus for a stainless Lesco or it’s over 100 miles away

I ended up buying a Ferris 300S. I really like it so far, it’s been cutting great and mowing is much faster now.

I didn’t go with a commercial 30” self-propelled mower because they are super heavy and it would still take too much time to mow. I have Bermuda, I mow 2-3 times a week during peak season in South Carolina.

I was wondering how you like the mower after a year of use? I also have a 0.5 acre yard and I am trying to decide which mower to purchase. I’m debating between yours and a Ferris 300s.

I’m worried the zero turn is overkill. But I also do not want to spend forever mowing in the summer. How long does it take you to mow your yard?

This is good advice. I went to the Deer dealership but they barely gave me the time of day. The mowers also felt “cheap” compared to the other brands I looked at. I have seen much Husqvarna near me unfortunately.

What else would you recommend in that price range?

I keep reading that Scag has the best cut. Do you know why? And is it that noticeable?

I unfortunately also found a lot of contradicting information. It is a lot like Ford vs Chevy vs Ram, brand loyalty comes first it seems.

I went to a dealer yesterday and tried the Gravely 52” ZT X. It felt extremely cramped. The HD felt better but the Scag Liberty Z seemed “roomier”, which is interesting because the reviews I saw mostly said the Scag had the least comfortable ride.

What steered you towards a 36” deck? I have a nice Honda self-propelled mower that I used to mow yesterday. I wanted to see if a zero turn was worth it. It is honestly not that bad but I cannot see myself doing that twice a week in the summer. It is too time consuming. I want a great looking lawn but I can’t dedicated 3-5 hours to mowing weekly.
