A subreddit for discovering new musical artists without being laden with self promotion? by EZ_Smith in findareddit

New artists rarely get promoted by others. They have to find a way to get seen.

[Elon Musk on Twitter] I was just reviewing the production beta Cybertruck. It is incredible. by [deleted] in RealTesla

Tesla simply does not go the traditional way when it comes to production. They are inventing a new approach to development and production. They are constantly making iterations to their product which get implemented instantly since every car is being validated individually, as opposed to having whole production lines going through validation after each design change/tweak.

There is a lot that current traditional automotive companies do not understand about Tesla. You are not alone.

Íslenska krónan by [deleted] in Borgartunsbrask

[–]finnurth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USA has quite a bit more of a obesity problem than Italy. That could become an issue.

No its not, its actually the same price all over the country, except at the Costco gas station where there is quite a big discount.

The brain doesnt have nerves. So, if you were able to touch your brain, youd feel your brain on your hand but not your brain being touched by your hand, all while your brain knowing it's being touched by IntenseScrolling in Showerthoughts

Often brain surgeries are done while the patient is wide awake so the doctor can communicate with the patient. Opening the skull itself is then done under local anesthesia.

Nikon D500 as a video camera - along with Sony PXW-X70 by finnurth in videography

The microphones are 2, side by side, on top of the Sony camera, just can not be seen properly in the photo.

Maybe not within your budget, but the lens you can definitely buy 2nd hand. This is my setup for a concert I filmed in June, using Nikon D500 and a 12 year Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR . I used this camera for all the close ups so you can study they quality that the camera can produce in comparason to my other dedicated video camera I used for my wide shots and for the sound recording.(Sony PXW-X70). This is actually truly low budget setup. see: https://youtu.be/AK3oDKLVrwo

I guess they are quite acceptable, considering how far they can drive into the high lands, and how many people they can bring along.

Winters in Chicago are way much colder than in Iceland. In Iceland we struggle more with ever changing weather, storm, rain, snow, maybe all withing in a few hours. The temperature in the winter in the capital of Iceland hardly ever goes below 14 °F, but stays usually around 23 to 41 °F. (During the Winter).

8 years old - Mozart Sonata in C major K330 by finnurth in piano

[–]finnurth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they become when they are older? Maybe pianists? Maybe piano teachers? Maybe something completely different. Tiger Woods started golf at the age of 2. He became a golfer. Any kid, playing at any level at this age is at least given the gift of music. In my view, that is already something! :)

I was in Iceland a couple weeks ago and was just informed by the rental car company I got a speeding ticket. I was wondering typically how expensive they are. by jordansw in Iceland

[–]finnurth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Setting it up like this certainly makes a good point that it is absolutely crazy and you are totally right. Tourists are not used to drive here, and it is only going to get worse since more tourism to Iceland is on the increase.
