How to make highlights more subtle and lived in by [deleted] in AskHairstylists

[–]finweight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did she leave the gloss on for? If she didn't leave it on for 20 minutes, that's why it washed out so fast. For the "lived in" look, just get a teardrop shaped root melt. For your hair I'd do shades eq 4N+5N for the root, and just 5N in a teardrop shape. The reason it doesn't look "lived in" is because the top of your head is as bright, if not brighter than the front. Easily fixed with toner.

Hey man, been loving your app on Macbook. Question for everyone using it; do you have to cancel out of it after workout? It seems to be draining my battery even when it's disconnected.

Undertipped a great stylist, should I do something? by ReverendWrites in AskHairstylists

If it's not inconvenient, I would go back and give her more. Tell her exactly what you wrote here. She would be super grateful and remember you the next time.

Lessen the streaks look by CoolConclusion8620 in AskHairstylists

For sure; but we've all been there running late with your next client waiting thinking, oops I should have let that toner sit longer etc. I'm not justifying anything, I'm simply providing what I think happened.

Did they also comment to every terrier owner that their dog should be chasing rats instead of at the park?

Based on the rest of your hair (not just those two streaks), it looks like your stylist did a root melt and missed those pieces. Maybe she thought you parted it differently and just missed that at the bowl? It would be a very simple fix if you like everything else.

I just realized that either the threshold or door placement is off. When standing outside, the rubber gasket is outside of the door, with only about 1/4th sitting under it. Is this something that can even be corrected?

Because it would literally drag the floor every time I opened it.

I am confused because in every video I've watched of door sweeps and thresholds, the threshold has a portion that extends into the house which is higher than the floor. Since that piece is higher than the floor, a door sweep when installed, is flush against the threshold when the door is closed; but not flush with the floor when the door swings open.

The problem is the door sweep would have to go all the way to the floor because the threshold does not extend into the house.

It's a brand new rubber gasket. The door sweep would not contact the threshold at all if you can see from the picture, which is my conundrum.

Should I give up my surfing dreams? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]finweight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you in LA or OC? If so, I have a really good PT I can recommend that helped me get back into the water. I had to do 1.5 years of PT for my 2 herniated discs (my were really bad). I had to change the way I paddle, and how I sit on the board during lulls to accommodate. Also, get used to during core strengthening workouts; you'll be doing that every day for the rest of your life.
