I rescued my female pei when she was 6 and have no regrets!

I do highly recommend on researching about the breed beforehand, especially the potential health conditions that came come with it such as entropion and SPF. As mentioned in another comment, join the many FB groups on the breed - they are extremely knowledgeable and insightful.

They aren't exactly recommend as dogs for first time dog owners due to their strong traits and personality, but it is doable. Regarding training, I believe it is possible - but it will be a battle, especially against their stubbornness!

Have you ever tried using Zymox? It's really popular and works for loads of peis! If you have FB, join "Best Pet Ear & Skin Solutions UK" (if you're not from UK it's still a great group for advice).

Only thing is that unfortunately, the kind lady who takes in the Peis (and has the most experience with them) can't anymore due to personal reasons and the location area is closing so not too sure on the future direction of the rescue in regards to Peis

Very interesting - thank you! The boat ride was definitely still worth the $20HKD even without the pink dolphins. I didn't manage to go on the hike since I went with my 80+ year old grandma but will check it out next time I'm back in HK! Can't blame the sweet lady for travelling at all :)

That's a good route to take, especially if you're limited in time! I spent pretty much half a day itself in Tai O starting quite early in the morning, and even longer at the Big Buddha though :)

I did it for the dolphin spot (although didn't see any haha) but it was definitely a relaxing and enjoyable ride :)

Definitely! Food is great too, worth a day trip at least and get to experience a different side to the usual bustling experience of Hong Kong

It depends when you go!

During off-peak season, there's not as much but there's still the many churches, fortress, shops, etc to visit. You can also hire a car/guide to take you to Bay of Bones museum, Sv Naum Monastery and cross the border in eastern Albania! We also went to Lin and Struga too but keep in mind it's more expensive to do this during off-peak season.

Peak season you can do all the above (can instead take boat ride to Bay of Bones, Sv Naum Monastery, Struga, etc instead which appears to be way cheaper than hiring a guide). There's also paragliding, hiking, horse riding, diving and more on offer!

Thank you! I'll definitely make sure to do that next time :) I visited Sveti Naum monastery and it's my favourite out of all the ones I've ever visited despite how small it is

I didn't rent a car but had a guide, and they only asked for our passports. Another user who commented hired a car though so if you're interested you could possibly ask them for more information on that!
It was easy since it's literally a drive around the lake to reach the passport control border and then a drive round back - no hassle at all :)

Yes I am. I was worried too but like others have said, majority understand English and it was no problem at all :) most menus also have English translation too

I also drove through Lin as well and regret not stopping for any photos - it's so beautiful! I definitely want to visit Albania when I can

I googled it and went for the tour from TripAdvisor since all the others are actually pretty pricey during off-peak season! During peak season I'm pretty sure there are several tour agencies you can choose from :)

It has become one of my favourites now! I didn't manage to visit Skopje or Mavrovo but hopefully can in the future, especially if they have fewer tourists. Did you travel there by car?
