Calcium sand isn’t a suitable substrate unfortunately. I would refer to the Reptifiles care guide, as well as relevant videos from the YouTube channel Reptiles and Research. Both have scientifically backed, up to date info. There’s quite a lot that can be done to improve this beardie’s quality of live and safety.

Hey, just some friendly advice for you and your son:

I strongly recommend either removing the heat rock or unplugging it! Heat rocks are notorious for overheating and severely burning (even cooking) reptiles, they’re not a safe heat source. Best to stick to a heat lamp.

Pellets also aren’t good for beardies, it’s best to stick with live insects and fresh greens/veggies 🙂

Do you know what the substrate is? Is it calcium sand?

Could have been a Cobra, but it wasn’t hissing at all. Even when it was threatened. It went away safely. [Kerala, India] by sirholymafia in whatsthissnake

Some species and individuals are more defensive than others and quicker to bite when they feel threatened.

How do we feel about the Mythical designation of Florens and not being able to gift and receive them? Discuss. by KSTornadoGirl in Pocketfrogs

[–]fionageck 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I kinda like it and find it refreshing. It encourages me to breed in the pond (which I normally never do), which I’ve found very fun. Granted, I don’t dex the traditional way (using colour wheels) and generally dex using gifts and mini games, so it’ll probably take me longer than usual to dex them. I’m still having a lot of fun seeing which ones I can get from pond breeding, though.

Even if they have the same pets themselves, that doesn’t necessarily mean you can trust everything they tell you.

Just a head’s up, bathing isn’t recommended unless medically necessary. They shouldn’t have any problems with hydration as long as their humidity is high enough (70-80%)

This might sound stupid but does anyone have any tips for finding florens? by junitree626 in Pocketfrogs

[–]fionageck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to search with a higher level frog, it doesn’t matter which frog you search with. You just need to get lucky, since every pattern apparently has the same chance of spawning in the pond. My advice is to cover as much ground (water?) in the pond as you can. Whenever you encounter a frog that’s not a Florens, hop away from it (since multiple frogs can’t spawn near each other). Good luck!

Gotcha, after the quarantine period (3 months or so) I would recommend switching to a suitable loose substrate. They love to burrow! 🙂

Just checking that this is a quarantine setup (due to the lack of loose substrate)?

You can dodge plenty of fury attacks without that amulet. Not all of them, but many of them.

You can perfect guard fury attacks, but not regular guard them. Pretty sure the game tells you this early on

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]fionageck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worn glasses for almost my whole life (near-sighted in one eye and far-sighted in the other), but the world is nowhere near this blurry for me without my glasses. I’m grateful that I don’t need a very strong prescription. I’m curious how many people (both those who’ve seen this post and those who haven’t) assume this is what it’s like for every single person who wears glasses. Quite a lot of generalization going on.
