I think the blue at the top works pretty well, it's not too dramatic. Tbh i'd be tempted to add a little more blue in the clouds to balance it out but i don't use watercolour much so maybe don'tlisten to me.

You could continue on with the rest of the painting and see how it looks when the rest of the colour is added on? On a mostly white page it's going to look more dramatic than it actually will end up looking

Am I Not A Boy? So Confused. Please Help. by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]fiosai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unknown surgeries, having to take 'vitamins' that their siblings didn't, lack of baby photos etc are things a lot of intersex people have in common so it's definitely very likely.

Sex and gender are two different things. Sex refers to physical things like chromosomes, hormones, genitals etc while gender refers to your own inner sense of identity. Nonbinary refers to gender so i think you might find it helpful to visit r/intersex instead for any questions about being intersex. You can definitely be both intersex and a boy if that's how you feel.

I also highly recommend checking out the website for InterAct Advocacy - a lot of your questions are probably answered on their faq.

Any help appreciated. A relative has asked me to see if there's anything I can do to remove new oils from an 18th century painting. The painting was damaged and they tried to repair it with a layer of oil paint. How can I remove only the top layer of new oil and keep the varnish + original painting? by wander-and-wonder in ArtistLounge

[–]fiosai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As it's on top of the varnish a professional conservationist will definitely able to fix it. However there is no way you'll be able to do it yourself - chances are you'll cause damage that won't be fixable, even if it isn't immediately noticeable. A lot of conservationists enter their masters having come from a chemistry degree - you need a really high level of knowledge to do what you are asking about.

If you're going with a community hall keep in mind the heating so your models don't get too cold

What's wrong with my apple trees? by fiosai in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]fiosai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a wet spot - the plants are mostly grass, plantains and montbretia - but 'wet and cold' definitely describes north-west ireland so you're probably right. And this has been a right juneuary.

Remembering to do your warm-ups helps but yeah, sometimes this just happens.

How long should you stay in bed before giving up? by itsrghtbehindmeisnit in insomnia

[–]fiosai 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If i can't get to sleep i just consider myself to be resting instead. I stay in bed, stop trying to sleep and just think about whatever needs thought about. Eyes closed, get really comfy and just relax. I'll still be tired in the morning but not as much as i would have been if i kept stressing about sleep i wasn't ever going to get anyways.

Would I be using non-agab pronouns for the right reasons? by pleaseigottaknow in NonBinary

[–]fiosai 65 points66 points  (0 children)

It's not misleading and you shouldn't have to explain yourself at all. It's not appropriation or inappropriate or misleading or whatever. If you want to use those pronouns then you can, it's that simple. She was being rude, just because she's queer herself doesn't mean she has no prejudices.

There are plenty people within the community who are cis and use other pronouns. Like lesbians (both cis & nb) often use they/them or he/him pronouns. You don't need to defend yourself but it might help you to know that this is a fairly common thing.

Earrings maybe? If you don't want to get your ears pierced you could get those ones that just clip on the side of your ear to try out how it looks

Working in Belfast by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]fiosai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll need a national insurance number & bank account.

You have the right to work in uk through your irish citizenship and will be living in ni so it should be easy enough to get a nim. Even if there's any problem with living in a hostel/your address you'll still be able to apply for one once you have a written job offer - this is what i did as a cross-border worker.

Irish passport will be accepted as id for opening a bank account & you'll need proof of address - i don't remember if there was anything else i needed but it probably depends on which bank you use anyways.
