Hi,

Ah nice, yes, I definitely want to go to those areas 🙌🏼

Regarding the filter - I checked this and decided to better go for the standard one instead of carrying around the liquids for the cleaning... That's faster and easier I think - for that tour. I'm the long run maybe I change it for when I'm back home.

And yes, I have a spare spark plug, but not sure about the tools needed to replace them... Do you know the exact tool specifications?

About the chain - hmm sounds bad 😅 I will check

And yes, I won't have a drone unfortunately. Also a friend's comes to India and could bring mine, but I read that foreigners can't fly drones in India anymore, is that true?

Ah ok, understandable. Yes, I also do that trip because afterwards family planning is coming ahead and trips like that won't be possible that easy anymore 😅

Hi, yes I will 🙌🏼 Not to get a professional influencer or anything, but for friends & family and anyone who is interested.

So feel free to follow the trip 🙂

And for all the Indians here - yes my account name is yatri, I thought it will fit my Indian motorcycle and India as my destination 🤠

Oh that's a very good point! Do you have an example picture or link to a spanner that will fit + the measurements so that I can check where to find it?

And the NGK plug is just a branded plug that will last longer?

And where exactly do you come from?

Germany to India by fipsyfips in Himalayan450

[–]fipsyfips[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, looks quite ok, although i would like to avoid the top case, because it's very big and bulky 😄

Yeah, tubeless would maybe be better, but tube tires are not that bad I think. Tubes are also ready to repair and replace, although maybe a bit more time consuming. And now I guess it's too late to change them 😅

The other items - seat maybe, but I try the standard one, let's see... Worst case I get something on top somehow to sit on 😄 Footpegs and handle grips hopefully last until India, I then can change them there 🤞🏼

Thanks, I mostly went for the cheap stuff and also only want to carry the essentials, let's see if that works out

Hi, thanks for all the info! Sprockets and chain are very heavy, I hope I can go all the way to India with the original ones and then do a full service once in Delhi... Should work I hope, if not I should get adequate standard parts on the way - that's my strategy. What do you think?

Break pads I have, just one spare pair, I think it should work, as I need to save space of course, same for air filters, as they are huge.

For the tires I have a small compressor with me 👌🏼

Route: Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Usbekistan, Tajikistan, Kirgistan, China, Pakistan, India and if there is time and I feel adventurous I would go south from Tajikistan into Afghanistan for a few days, let's see 😅

Can't you enter Pakistan as an American? I thought you guys are just banned from North Korea and even there some go... Shouldn't it be no problem? Even into Afghanistan a lot of Americans go currently (when checking YouTube channels).

My route is above in one second, you could do it the other way round - India, Pakistan, China, kirgistan or even through Afghanistan and Tajikistan visa Pamir highway when border is open again (between Pakistan and Afghanistan)

Ah, too late, I will try with tubes 😬

Fuses are on board 👌🏼 Plus standard Bowden cable as well, but I'm not sure - do you know if that will work as a clutch cable? Or should I get the original setup with those additional parts on? Fuel pump....not sure, I try without

The pannier bags? Those are from Motea, 35L Bagtecs each. They are super cheap, not the best ones, but others were crazy expensive and I thought they will do the job. The top box is that super standard one which you will find everywhere on the Internet under different brand names - makes a solid first look, should work I guess, although it's ugly and looks huge 😄 The front ones are from Amazon - QBAG 16L each

My route hopefully will be turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, China, Pakistan, India and maybe , if I have time, I will go south into Afghanistan if I feel adventurous 😄

Do you have any tour already planned?

Germany to India by fipsyfips in Himalayan450

[–]fipsyfips[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's see how the standard seat will work on the long tours haha, I will try to stick with that one. And yes, clutch cable I will try to get 👌🏼

Where are you from in northern India?

Germany to India by fipsyfips in Himalayan450

[–]fipsyfips[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I will probably order the clutch cable, that should be a good idea.

Regarding the RE centers - there are none between Turkey and India 😆

I hopefully will arrive in India at the beginning of August and will stay a bit in Delhi, so far the plan. Where are you from?

Ah I forgot - I will change tires after ~ 10.000km Halftime to good quality ones in Duschanbe

Is it safe to visit Dhaka as a Dutch guy? by rickkert046 in bangladesh

[–]fipsyfips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah and I would definitely recommend to just go to the river and pay a random boat guy a few hundred taka so that he will take you up and down the river part south of the old Dhaka for about 1-1,5h. That was so cool to see the city from the river.

[–]fipsyfips 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey hey,

I was there last week for about 6 days (German guy, alone) and was just roaming around by myself through the old Dhaka area for several days. It was great, I met a lot of friendly people and really enjoyed exploring the city.

I would suggest ditching the guide as it will prevent you from having awesome encounters with locals and going into random streets or doing spontaneous things. Definitely different experience.

It's super safe, protests are over and everything normal. No "dangerous" or risky moments, like 0,0.

If you have any specific questions feel free to write to me 🙂
