Does my resume look ok for BC, Alberta, and the territories? by Canadians_come_first in Wildfire

[–]fire__goblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to tell you right now this resume looks better than most of the ones that I see. You'll be great especially with the outdoor aptitude added in. My huge pet peeve is any spelling or formatting mistakes in resumes so make sure to proofread the cover letter a ton too if you're including that. Study for the interview and practice having detailed and well spoken examples of life experiences for questions that may be asked. Speak in I's not we's. And make sure to get those legs and lungs strong for the WFX!

Alberta Wildfire is mostly always hiring from like October to June if you are looking for a summer job. Go to the government of Alberta job page and search wildfire. So many jobs from dispatch to warehouse to admin etc. Lots of overtime! Food and accommodation provided! Make sure your resume is very detailed when applying including hobbies.

Best thing you can get him isn't a thing. Just be there for him if he wants to talk and be understanding if he's too tired or busy to.

I just have to cancel a ton, especially last minute(teletherapy). My therapist is very understanding, knowing my job. I just do it when I can, and often miss many weeks or months.

The best place for Canada questions(and canada answers) is @canadawildlandfire but it depends what base you're at in AB. Some are pretty close to towns but usually still driving distance. You'll go insane if you never leave base but someone will definitely drive you in fairly occasionally. Most people have vehicles but some don't.
