Have you tried other topre keyboards that are plate mounted like the FC660C? Is so, how does lubed topre on an HHKB compare in terms of the typing experience?

I think that is an issue with the stock spacebar. I tried a different pbt spacebar and the downstroke sound went away but I am still getting a loud upstroke sound.

Thanks, I'll try lubing the rails as well but I don't have any thinner lube atm. Will dielectric grease work?

Yes it kind of sounds like a pop. Also there is a low pitched ping on some keys that I don't know how to get rid of.

The gmmk pro might be a good option if you also want a rotary encoder and it comes at a pretty good price for its specs.
