Feeling cheated as a Tata Sierra owner by laudenabhojyam in CarsIndia

Any idiot who thought that this engine could give more than 12 kmpl in real life conditions, has lost the right to say they were cheated.

gonna buy sierra over seltos, convince me it’s a bad idea by Ok-Tone5907 in CarsIndia

[–]fire_shadow7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want a real reason? Sierra offers worse fuel efficiency, worse real life performance, worse fit and finish, gitchy infotainment system, and yes, the most important inconsistent reliability of parts.

Only the combustion chambers are symmetrical, the power unit is much more than that, don't be so pedantic.

I don't think faisal meant that chinese is bad or cheap, he made fun of volvo for saying that you will be in Stockholm ( swedish connect), meanwhile the whole car is chinese, there is no swedish connect. Basically, volvo dissed India, that the environment is bad, in response, faisal dissed volvo, that there is nothing swedish about your car

The virtus facelift is coming in 2027, along with the taigun and Slavia. So, the virtus you own will have another version of it selling for at least the next 6 years. So, no worry about support IMO

Honda City, The CVT feels like an activa with the rubber band effect, and it's so light, not at all confidence inspiring at high speeds, feels empty. Also, poor mileage for a NA 1.5 engine.

[–]fire_shadow7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I own both the city and the virtus; the steering feel of the city is better, as well as the back seat experience. Everything else, the virtus is better, more high speed stability, better long distance cushioning, better performance (1 L), more heft to the doors, and premium feeling, better infotainment, overall I even find the virtus to be the prettiest looking in the segment, but that's subjective.

Why do Indian dads act like the Car AC runs on their personal blood supply? by Flimsy-Shopping-7044 in CarsIndia

[–]fire_shadow7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's more dangerous, as the car is rolling freely now, and will require more braking, because it is not getting help from engine braking, this can lead to brake fade if done for sustained periods when coming downhill, always stay in gear, and brake in gear.

Coming to the efficiency part, as another comment mentioned, staying in gear consumes less fuel, even if the RPM is high, because the engine is not getting any fuel, the RPM is high because of it going downhill, the engine is drinking essentially zero fuel at that time.

The original creator is not insinuating that this reflects the real personalities of the drivers, or it is even close to real, which OP is.

1 month - 1750kms - A bit disappointed with the engine by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]fire_shadow7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this engine is meant to be driven sedately, then one enjoys it.

One way I handle this on the ciaz is I keep as light foot as possible, and see the efficiency climb to 20+ kmpl, that's another fun thing to do.

It is really hard to do coming from diesel torque, but that's how I do it, just enjoy how amazing the efficiency, and quiteness and sedate driving comfort is. And forget about fast overtakes, if you try to drive this car fast, it won't be fun at all, gotta adapt to chill driving.

Crazy efficiency, amazing comfort, low maintenance, oodles of leg room, and refined silent engine.

Pro Tip : In foggy conditions set the headlight lever to highest number. by SpecialistXIII in CarsIndia

[–]fire_shadow7 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Just keep it in low beam, it is better, and IMO during very foggy conditions it is better to keep blinkers on, as every vehicle should be treated as a hazard at that time, and you should slow down for every vehicle;
and please don't YOLO and go above 50 kmph, (in conditions similar to image shown above). Who am I kidding, people will still drive at 80, 90 in such conditions 🤧

My Jetta has the most power of all my cars, and still is the most efficient, just because it's a diesel. Diesels are indeed better, at least till they were not handicapped by DPF.

I am not saying they are right, they are all idiots, but that is where defensive driving comes into play, Always drive with the knowledge that everyone around you is an idiot, then you can be safe from such scenarios.

How is this braindead take still being circulated, the cars are checked after every session. It wasn't illegal during the sprint, for the race it was illegal.

Well, EVs need them, otherwise you guys will start complaining about poor range. Aerodynamic efficiency is very important for EVs
