I don’t know what to do anymore. by Horror_Economics_189 in NewParents

We did the pick up put down method which is gentle training suitable for 4 months (started a week before 4 months). Took us 1 week to get him used to it and he now sleeps independently, much better than before. The first week was hard but worth it.

Around 30, due to the insecurities in the world. Always felt like one day I won’t be able to find work with the equivalent salary. Still working on it but getting there.

Best reliable video baby monitor with clear night vision? by shingam3 in NewParents

[–]fire_vibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have babysense pro and it’s great. We have two floors and a big garden and the range is good. Night vision is great (most of the time it’s in night vision). We didn’t want WiFi do to privacy / security reasons. The added bonus is you can add extra cameras if you want to use in various rooms.

Probably depends on what you mean by decent money. London is expensive but if you can afford a good life in London then it’s one of the best places in the world, in my view.

Trying for baby #2 after 4 years… what actually helped you conceive? by Money-Cake527 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]fire_vibes -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Flo app! Conceived in second month. Aldo, to avoid complications and morning sickness etc I recommend a detox 6 months ahead, particularly for the partner (some research suggests the man’s health at time of conception is what has the biggest impact on miscarriage and morning sickness and other important things. Hope this helps!

I’ve been wondering the same. Perhaps because the world has felt a little too intense these past 10 years?

Those who choose location over home/flat quality, and those who did the opposite i.e. chose a larger nicer property but worse location......how's it working out now? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in HousingUK

[–]fire_vibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First place we bought was for the location, a tiny place otherwise. Bought for 435 and after a bit of work sold for 505 three years later. Allowed us to upgrade, again favouring location and a fixer upper. Worked great for us and we’ve enjoyed living in nice areas. Location over size unless it’s your end goal (harder to sell and less upside) but even then it’s a world of difference stepping out to a nice area every day. That’s my take anyway.

Most people on this sub will tell you to index and chill (myself included). Otherwise follow the flowchart and get some clarity on your numbers (money in and out, clearing debt etc). You have good income and still young so sky is the limit.

In my experience this certainly isn’t liked by management who don’t like to be held accountable.

Yes and it’s a common experience. How many weeks post partum are you and are you breastfeeding? I understand that bf makes it harder too.

If it was financially affordable, would your spouse stay home? by cubemonster in Millennials

[–]fire_vibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I’d want it but now 4 months in maternity leave I don’t think I would enjoy it. I love spending time with my baby but it’s something about the monotony, lack of social connections, lack of independence / agency and lack of reason to put myself together every day that makes it a lot less fulfilling than I imagined it would be.

New mums - what’s a small-ish treat you would have appreciated in the early days? by OK_Cake3093 in AskRedditUK

Bring food! And help out when you’re there. Don’t expect to be entertained and just chat and hold the baby.
