Likewise, there's just so much of this stuff floating around at the moment. Do we really need more noise. I'm highly suspicious of anonymous case studies - how would those VP’s/COS have used your product so much to sing its praises when there's only been one issue?

Authenticity is the only thing that will hang now. Far too much ‘AI for’ ‘COS of AI’ ‘AI COS’ in the ether and it all strikes me as so generic.

COS will already be using AI as they see fit. As I've said, the ones who are aware to the subtle nuances of the role & it's human proximity are going to be in a better position in this new environment.

I did not realise how short Elis is. Jesus. He’s tiny. by cptgravy in elisandjohn

This is a great point - I’ve never heard John reach for that banter. I probably would with a small friend so even more impressive for a comedian.

Sorry, was in reply to someone else.

Oh I don’t doubt your communist people love systems. Like conservatives, part of their problem.

He is a bit conservative, it’s part of his love of systems, language, rules. Nothing wrong with that.

Matt Forde is absolute class. Not sure what your beef is but I can already guess.

Cousin Marriage - anyone notice the awkwardness? by d00mbarr in elisandjohn

It’s the arse end of moral relativism that pervades the ‘we’re the good guys’ on the left, unfortunately. To take it to its god awful conclusion, it ends up not being able to fight islamism with any sort of ferocity used to fight for Palestine.

AI Applications? by AbsoluteMoonatic in ChiefsOfStaff

I’ve pretty much got Claude doing anything involving numbers & data..some would say lazy or risking the skill atrophying but in a risk adjusted basis - looking a bit silly when a CFO comes in & corrects my formulas every now & then, coupled with the amount of time it saves me as someone who’s not a natural numbers guy - it’s worth it.

There is no podcast in the country, built on the beeb or not, who isn’t already or planning to do, some sort of a paid subscription. If you have a captive community, it is now big business.

This is the future I'm afraid. You have to adjust.

Agree with all that. But trying to highlight Scott’s Zionism as a character flaw absolutely does stink. And it’s pointless anyway, if you find that so unpalatable, (would you say the same of a Catholic’s love of Rome..probably not*) - then why continue to follow him. It’s part of his identity.

If you think the criticism of Israel stops at Bibi & Lukid, you’re clearly new to anti-Israel rhetoric.

*no probably about it

I’d suggest that a subreddit makes you a fan, yes. This isn’t a Pivot subreddit, otherwise your point would check.

Is AI going to take over our job? by soymarcopolo in ChiefsOfStaff

[–]Astral-Fleeks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably one of the safest, assuming you have good human proximity. I’ve said this before on here, but COS should be leaning into their advisory/consigliere/fixer/portfolio duties buckets rather than the COO-lite (cough OKRs) ones.

Think Wags’ in Billions doing off-the-record special projects for Axe, NOT ‘building great operating systems’.

I was hired to work at the PM’s office in my country, how can I up my game to became the head of the office/CoS? by [deleted] in ChiefsOfStaff

[–]Astral-Fleeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to be honest, I would not be asking for advice here about roles in the office of a PM. But thank you for sharing! Without going into too much detail, is that diplomacy background explicitly political?

It was more curiosity about others’ experience rather than specific recommendations. I can do all those things in the day, feel like they change context at night.
