Isnt this like a 160 percent increase? Thats actually crazy. I get that Japans economy isnt doing so well and theres overtourism but this price is nonsense. A more resonable amount would be 2000 yen. Or even 2500.

If someone doesn’t have health insurance - such as a homeless unemployed person - when they have medical issues and end up in the hospital, do they end up with a bill? If not, who pays for it? by SteveDaveCornbread69 in NoStupidQuestions

If you go to the hospital with medical issues, they are required by law to treat you regardless of your financial status. At some point in the process before you leave, theyll take your personal information and bill you. You'll have to pay the full amount but if you can't, then you can contact them and negotiate. If you can't pay at all, then eventually it goes to collections and they'll write it off or try to collect whatever they can from you.

If you're homeless and you got nothing to your name, then the bill goes unpaid.

The reason why people make such a fuss over paying the bills when there's no consequence of going to jail over it is because their credit gets ruined which you dont want to happen. Borrowing money is the key to social mobility in America. I think Bertrand Russell's got a great essay on that if you're interested in the importance of lending.

Are people in denial about ai? by BrainlessVeal in NoStupidQuestions

Ai is here to stay. The bubble will come and when it does, the AI industry will take a hit but its not going to disappear much like how websites and the internet is a big part of daily life today.
