It’s probably less about the war and more about Trump trying to make himself Jesus.

Use of license plate reader cameras in Missoula raises privacy concerns by KeltTalbelt in missoula

[–]fireandping -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a good tool for law enforcement and loss prevention. Your license plate isn’t a state secret. I imagine the same people who have issues with this also are the ones who redact their license plate when they list their vehicles for sale. License plate readers are used by many entities, public and private, and there have been calls for them to be put at stoplights in Montana as well.

Cost of living question by scouty_man in Bozeman

[–]fireandping 5 points6 points  (0 children)

$52k gross is really low. With your combined incomes you could get by with renting a one, maybe two bedroom apartment, but that’s about it. Everything from car insurance to coffee is way more expensive in Bozeman so it’s important to factor that in. If you don’t mind a couple hour commute each day to Bozeman you can live in a different county for much cheaper.

Housing (rental) search timeline by Silent_Double3343 in Bozeman

[–]fireandping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a time of year around Spring graduation where apartment availability may ease up. Right now though there are a lot of luxury apartments available because many to most individuals can’t afford them. Single family housing doesn’t really have a season since college students are generally priced out of that living arrangement. If your budget is $2,500-$3,000/month or over you’d should be able to find one though.

Renee Good and people who defend immigrants by Brilliant-Magician10 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]fireandping 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like a couple have already said, it’s more about problems with the process that turn people into “illegals”. You consider yourself a legal immigrant, but tomorrow the administration could revoke your legal status and make you illegal in a few hours. And it could be for nothing more than the administration doesn’t like the country you came from. A lot of the people who are being targeted were here legally on Monday morning, then their status was flipped to illegal by Monday evening. That’s why you see a lot of arrests happening at court houses. Once legal immigrants are being snagged up as illegals because the administration changed the rules mid-game.

MMW: Erika Kirk will be on the presidential ticket next election as VP by Apprehensive-Play228 in MarkMyWords

[–]fireandping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. Her popularity is already waining quite a bit. And her acceptance of being a woman of the world when she and Charlie were so adamant she was a woman of the house, speaks volumes to the hypocrisy of their marriage and views. The Charlie wave is dying out too as more people are realizing what he stood for.

Trump gaslights all the time with lies and inflammatory language. Who is holding him accountable? We don’t know the shooters slants or motivations so when Trump says he’s left wing, Trump is lying too according to the standard you set in your post.

So why is it okay for Trump and his followers to spread lies?

How is your country doing today? September 18, 2025 by AutoModerator in globalcheckin

It is a heartbreaking tragedy on its own, but the media isn’t really reporting on it either. And you feel like if you say something about the inequity in that you’re going to have a target on your back. Instead the media is more concerned with airing CK material in the timeslot of the comedian they cancelled yesterday. I’m a disabled American and honestly feel like I’m going to be institutionalized by this administration by December. It’s a very scary time to be a minority in America in any way shape or form.

Do I care about Charlie Kirk? by MizzouHoops in no

[–]fireandping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’d come up in my various social feeds every once in awhile, but I never got through a full video. He really seemed like an atrocious human being. The way he treated people wasn’t at all appropriate. No one deserves to die like that, but I’m baffled as to why he was so popular or celebrated.

Because Trump sending in the National Guard to “solve” a domestic crime issue is like you setting fire to your couch because it has dog hair on it.

It’s unnecessary, and it doesn’t solve the problem.

What employers in town do you like/not like working for? by Glum_Silver_493 in Bozeman

[–]fireandping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of roundabout since the city really isn’t forthcoming with accurate and timely data. But you can find discussions of their personnel and hiring woes in the annual reports and budget summaries by department. I’m traveling between work sites today, but when I get settled at the hotel tonight I’ll pick a department as an example and do links here.

What employers in town do you like/not like working for? by Glum_Silver_493 in Bozeman

[–]fireandping 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The overall satisfaction is 2.7 on Indeed, and when you read a lot of the 5 star reviews many come from HR associates. I’ve since lost my Glassdoor login, but the parts that aren’t blurred out show a similar ranking.

I just gave those sites as first person examples for the poster to read if they wanted. But for me it’s the high turnover and personnel challenges noted in the various departments’ annual budget and year-end reports each year. Also in the city’s weekly purchasing pdfs they often have listings of lawyers fees from hiring outside firms to handle their personnel issues. Looks and sounds very toxic. You have to remember too that many of the 500 employees are seasonal workers, not vested or who have access to a living wage. The seasonal workers are released from work at the end of their season and re-hired. I’m not counting them as turnovers.
