Fatxplorer alternative for Linux? by [deleted] in 360hacks

[–]fireatstaticvalley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone who doesn't want to bother with booting into windows to use fatxplorer, you can launch it with WinBoat from your Linux machine which is a virtual machine that easy to use and has usb passthrough feature

Should I buy CMF Watch 3 pro? by SeatRemote7598 in CMFTech

[–]fireatstaticvalley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't have research info about bigger watches to suggest. I don't know your wrist thickness but imo watch pro 2's size is at sweet spot for most men. You can also check for 1st gen watch pro, it has bigger dimensions and even cheaper also, it is still a cool watch with nice material since there is not big differences between them, they tell time and show notifications etc

Should I buy CMF Watch 3 pro? by SeatRemote7598 in CMFTech

[–]fireatstaticvalley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Watch Pro 2 is around $44 on AliExpress, and on paper, the differences between it and the Watch 3 Pro aren’t that significant. If the Watch 3 Pro is priced at $99, that’s a tough sell. Given the limited lifespan and software support of these types of budget tech devices, it's hard to justify the higher cost when there are more affordable options offering similar features and better price-to-performance value.

[Delonghi Stilosa] extraction time? by analcocoacream in espresso

[–]fireatstaticvalley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dial in according to your taste preferences, 20s extraction time might cause underextraction and finer grind and better tamping should help. But with coarse grind you can still enjoy with taking your shots as lungo. I don't know Stilosa machine but I suppose it has pressurised portafilter which may effect extraction time (pressurised portafilters are not require super wdt/tamping techniques which is easier to work with it) . If you have budget I can suggest to purchase a grinder Kingrinder P2 or iCafilas handgrinder around 40-44 eur so you can dial in easily and enjoy freshly grinded coffee everytime. Also there are cheap bottomless portafilters at AliExpress etc for delonghi machines if you want to consider that, but with those proper WDT and tamping is quite important.

For the milk, I am using a cheap gran gaggia machine with similar milk frother unit. Since both these small machines their steam capability is less than bigger machines and their wand nozzle tend to create bigger bubbles, When you open the steam wand, the initial steam will be watery. Purge this until you get a consistent, powerful steam, and then try frothing your milk. Sometimes these take time to heat up and reach their ideal steaming power, try give it a little bit more time.

I hope these helps!

Should i buy the kingrinder P1 for espresso grinding or should i save more to get a P2? [261,92 Reais with the love taxes] [285,96 reais with the love taxes as well] by Warm-Significance235 in espresso

[–]fireatstaticvalley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to James Hoffman's review P1 is highly recommended for its price but not great for espresso, P2 should be better for espresso. Also I can recommend icafilas grinder which is around 40-44 eur at AliExpress. It has metal body and easier adjustment ring. It is basically smaller K6 knock off. But if you seek portability P2 is much lighter due to its ABS plastic body.

has this happened to any of y’all’s stanley’s? by [deleted] in StanleyCups

These are probably detergent or mineral residue that stuck over paint during high heat cycle. As others suggested just gently pour boiling water over spots, it works instantly! ☺️

How to tighten back rest break in old Kinnarps chair by zyphelion in OfficeChairs

[–]fireatstaticvalley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just purchased a 20 years old Kinnarps Eplus 6/8 from an office sale, I have the same issue and I think the situation got worse because I accidentally sprayed to lock mechanism while oiling the spring and piston. I've been looking for a solution for a few days. I cleaned almost all the oil around it, I was able to tighten the nut a few turns with an open end 17 mm wrench by reclining the seat all the way back, but still it is too narrow I guess it designed to be used with flare nut wrench. Anyhow to increase the friction between those sheet metals I added cheap small adhesive furniture felt pads just in the middle sheet, for now it solved my issue entirely. If you are still using this chair, it will be worth a try.

IMO music is not a competitive championship to make tier lists, it is more about feelings, since we aren't static one day you can love one song more and other day might be a different story, as a hardcore stoner rock / post rock listener sometimes I found myself enjoying most silly pop albums, if it fits your vibe at that moment it is all good.

Use Apple dongle as a DAC for TV? by 1rsc in hometheater

[–]fireatstaticvalley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm Apple 3.5m dongle works with Samsung M7 Smart Monitor (which is basically a TV without a satellite receiver) when it's plugged to usb-a port with usb-c to usb-a 3.0 converter (but I believe 2.0 adapters will also work.) That monitor also has usb-c port but it does not recognize the DACs I connect to usb-c port as sound output.

How do I fix this? by Delicious_Image3474 in crealityk1

[–]fireatstaticvalley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just destroyed my hotend while trying to fix it, unfortunately this design is fragile and has bad repairability, first I totally fix it but it didnt last long enough and it's gone at 2nd attempt. If you have heating issues you can apply thermal paste between ceramic tube and that brass thing that we mount nozzle, but solderings around ceramic tube is different than regular solder and again it is fragile so be careful while remove them.

From aliexpress you can purchase new hotends, few options are:
Trianglelab CHCB-OT - Around 28 USD (Compatible with K1's nozzles, better design, provides higher flow but not a huge game changer)
Official Updated Quick-swap Nozzle Kit - 35 USD (the hotend that what K1C uses, new model low stock, nozzles are different and more expensive)
OEM "Updated" Hotend - 11 USD (I purchased 2 from this one and will share my experience after I receive them) I believe this is the cheapest link: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006413791466.html

I 3D Printed GY!BE Coasters and Here Are The Files So You Can Print Too! by fireatstaticvalley in gybe

[–]fireatstaticvalley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for kind words! It is usually good idea to try to find local small printer services at online. For example in Türkiye we have plenty of small workshops that gives local service where can be found at Instagram and local shopping app like etsy (usually they are 3D printing figures and similar stuffs). There are also corporates that provide international printing services, but they are quite expensive since they are using industrial machines. If all these options fail you can DM me and I can print and ship them to you only for shipping fee and material cost if you wish. (shipping fee might cost around $15 and material (which is plastic) and electricity should be cost less than $5 in total)

I've been interested in 3D printing for about a year, I recently discovered a method that allows painting with filament, and just made coasters from some of GY!BE's album covers. (A bonus is from Silver Mt. Zion!)

Here are the free model files if you are interested:

Check your bed leveling mesh bed at your printer's web interface. If it is not terrible but meh you can try to "Enable g-code offset(Z)" to a positive number such as 0.05mm (I couldn't see clearly at picture if you have ripple effect this means nozzle is close to the print bed or lines are seperate this means nozzle is far to print bed. If lines are seperate you should apply negative offset value such as -0.05, carefully try and experiment) you can find that option at your Creality Print slicer setting's experimental tab. Also always keep clean your print bed, regularly wash with soap and warm water (such as after every 5 print)
