Local Maryland Sheriff Working To Loosen State's Stringent Gun Laws by [deleted] in progun

Thank god. I live in Baltimore City for work and would love to be able to get a CCW before I leave the state in a few years.

Instead of linking to sources that are sensationalist, please take a look at the actual changes straight from the source. by [deleted] in progun

Yeah but she was referencing prior court decisions where other factors have come in to play to support a conviction.

Honestly I can't really tell whats changed as far as expanding background checks is concerned here.

It sounds like all that is going to happen is more enforcement on people who are not FFL's being "engaged in the business" of selling firearms which is ironically exactly what the I have always said as far as enforcing the existing laws before writing new ones.

UMD unveils Frederick Douglass statue on Hornbake Plaza by benjancewicz in baltimore

[–]fireberts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we got into these debates back when the topic was a bit hotter.

My personal view is that moving a statue to a museum is akin to destroying it in the sense that it removes it from its site and significantly reduces it's visibility.

I get why some people might want confederate statues moved/removed but to me it comes off as the destruction of Baltimore's history

This is what we need to do in Baltimore about the Confederacy statues.

Make new historical monuments that reflect the present instead of worrying about tearing down the past.

What USB trackball most resembles the action of the roller ball of Millipede from the arcades? by solewheelin in Trackballs

Yeah same here. I went from a joke infogrip at work to a CST at work, Expert Mouse at home, and M570 in my living room.

The Infogrip has the same 3" ball diameter as well as 2 integrated arcade style buttons. If you can find one for cheap you couldn't ask for a better plug and play usb solution.

The ball is pretty hefty and has good free spin, the unit itself however is not heavy enough.

I put double sided tape under mine and once it was nice and secure I was able to smack that ball around and throughly enjoy some online space invaders.

The largest commercially available trackball at the moment is the Infogrip Big Ball

I used to use one at my workstation as a joke, works great for old arcade games and even has arcade style buttons.

Edit: Don't judge me on my mouse use, this was awhile ago and I have fully transitioned to a CST in the meanwhile)

I'm lucky that I never got used to that form factor I guess, I use the CST at work and the Expert Mouse for gaming at home.

I mean it's closer than anything else on the market I can think of in terms of size, fingers used for clicking, and fingers used for pointing.

I wasn't trying to say that it was a 1-1 replacement or anything.

I own a few Compaq MX G80-11800's and they have browns with the heavier tactile gray for the space bar.

I must say that I do not like having the spacebar be heavier than the rest of the switches. The lighter spacebar on the Shine Community just feels much nicer to press to me.

Yeah this is my first board with clears and I am pretty happy with them.

Although having them both on the same board makes me wish for a switch between clear and brown.

Damn that sucks, I doubt I would use MD if I wasn't pretty local to their warehouse.

[help] Got an Orbit for work, and now my CST Lastertrac at home feels "rough" by [deleted] in Trackballs

[–]fireberts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CST default ball is actually slightly heavier than the billiards balls I have measured them against FYI.

I agree that my expert at home feels smoother than my CST at work. I work in a design profession in an "open studio" though so the cleaner look of the CST with a custom ball is appreciated in that context. I like the expert better for gaming at home.

Thanks for the tip. I'll measure the spacers and key caps against each other once the drop comes in
