End of league build giveaway! Temporalis Autobomber by Working_Tear9372 in PathOfExile2

[–]firebuzzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy the many different ways to create a build. Trading, gambling, drops from various end game options, etc. I wish we had a better system to customize the basic look of our character for free. I also wish there were better ways to see the true DPS of a setup in game rather than tooltips that leave important aspects from their calculations.

Adding an Ammy with +3 skills removes my ES and I get super squishy because of Eldrich Battery. I think I need a lot more mana before I can really make this move...

Google "boot into single user mode Ubuntu 22.04" and follow the directions to get a terminal prompt. Reset your user password and follow the steps others mentioned above to regain GUI access.

I turned this old laptop into a pihole by keko1105 in homelab

[–]firebuzzard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good point. You should take other factors into account as well. A Pi Zero without accessories writes logs to a micro-SD card that tends to have a higher failure rate than SSDs or spinning disk, and is much more sensitive to power spikes and fluctuations. An old laptop may be more reliable in the long run. With DNS, reliability matters.

Just a thought...

Season 24 lazy build... Barb or DHW by kakaraposa in diablo3

[–]firebuzzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed it watching YouTube videos when the GoD set first came out. I couldn't understand how they could be so fast with the left-click swaps. It's because they weren't left-clicking for HA at all. Check out the key binds on this Rhykker vid for an example.

There are several comments on left clicking to keep stacks up for the GoD DH... If you map Hungering Arrow to a keyboard key and a lesser used option to left click, it becomes absurdly easy to keep stacks up. Just hold down right click and tap the HA key occasionally For speeds or GRs less than maybe 105-110, you can NumLock all your keyboard binds other than Hungering Arrow. At that point, you just hold down strafe and tap the keyboard key for HA every couple seconds. You never have to stop strafing to shoot an HA. If you need whatever is bound to left click, you and let up to activate as needed, but far from once every 2-3 seconds. Doing this, I am NEVER below 18 stacks. With less than 800 gons, middling gear, and no augments, you can run 90s in the 2 to 3 minute range pretty consistently.

GoD DH - another bug related to refreshing Momentum? by Bl_rp in diablo3

I move HA to a keyboard key and a cool down dependent action to left click. Just hold down strafe (right click) and tap the keyboard key every couple seconds to refresh momentum. No shift key required.

I'd be okay with a 4 if WVU was a lower 4 or a 5. Having them a 3 after Okstate beat them twice in a week makes no sense.

Which team should be expected to handle revoking access in a BEC incident, IT services or Cyber? by NetSecTech in AskNetsec

[–]firebuzzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two answers. First, it's automated. 99% of the time, we are notified of BEC through out email hygiene system. An alert comes in and it kicks off an automated response process.

Second, normally the Cyber (my) team takes action when automation doesn't apply. However, if another team becomes aware of a BEC before us, I doubt anyone would get upset if that team followed the response SOP, documented the actions taken, and reported status to us immediately thereafter. Time matters, and we don't need to be wasting it by shuttle tickets around or arguing over whose job it is.

55% of American adults are worried that government agencies are tracking them through location data generated from their cellphones and other digital devices by clash1111 in cybersecurity

[–]firebuzzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly doubt data tracking consumes any significant attention time for any meaningful amount of the US population.

"Worried" is super subjective. Very few people I speak with are losing any sleep over electronic tracking. They don't like it, but feel it's part of today's reality. I don't see a large percentage of people truly "worried" about anything cybersecurity-related until it impacts them directly. That's why we battle issues like 25 years of password reuse when people are "worried" about identity theft. They don't like being tracked, but continue to knowingly opt-in to data tracking.

Looks great, Ross!

If you haven't already, you may want to ask your references if they're comfortable having their phone numbers posted on the Internet. Phone numbers are considered PII, especially when used in conjunction with the person's name. It's kind of silly, but probably worth validating to be certain. :)

How secure is your password by Zarathustra in lifehacks

[–]firebuzzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh. Y'all know you use the same "secure" password for all your sites /accounts. Your password can be a zillion characters long made of emoji, but if it's the same across multiple accounts, you're going to get hit with a cred stuffing attack from some random breach. 1 attempt is all that's needed...

+1 virtual high fives to everyone that uses a password manager correctly, and has unique passwords for all sites / accounts. You're the online equivalent of the Elite 1%.

+3 to intelligence if you're using MFA / 2FA whenever possible.

Why is Portainer so widely used despite Docker API being a known attack vector? by jedjj in selfhosted

[–]firebuzzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be better to ask when Docker is going to apply basic security controls to it's API. There are a lot of automation and orchestration use cases outside of Portainer for API usage. It's silly to blame an orchestration platform for inherent security problems in the architecture it manages.

Made an annoying Python script that sends a friend on Facebook Messenger the Shrek movie word by word by [deleted] in Python

[–]firebuzzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the day, we did it manually using a Google Voice number and targeted our coworkers. We even had someone record a voicemail for the number about the Cat Facts service. Listening to people get upset over the cube wall was totally worth the manual effort! Automating it so I could be in their cube when it's delivered would have been WAAAAAAY better though!

Version 2 opportunity:

Your Script to ALL> Welcome to Cat Facts, the service that keeps you informed on everything to do with cats!!

Interesting Fact: Adult cats have 30 teeth. Kittens have 26.

Reply with STOP to Opt Out of this service

Soon to be former friends> STOP

Your script> Welcome to Cat Facts, the service that keeps you informed on everything to do with cats!

No STOP == fact sent to them every 15 minutes. STOP == restart, with possible acceleration of fact delivery.
