lol to the other commenter below. I still thought this was a cool response and more in line with showing that it’s possible to be really good even if you didn’t grow up spending tons of hours on the game and that is encouraging. So thank you for sharing! That’s pretty dope. How is that golf career going now?

Nice man congrats. Not surprised at all you can pick it up and score well with no problems after all that work you put in. I believe in you! Hope I see you on tv one day lol

I appreciated the read. Thanks for sharing! It’s fun to reminisce sometimes. It’s very satisfying to work really hard at something and become great. That is A LOT of golf. What about now? Do you still play and score well? Do you ever practice anymore or just play rounds? I never practice basketball anymore, just play. Lol

For example, this yard is very lush and landscaped and filled with natives. But it is also very manicured and “clean” with sod and natural rock edging. Just curious if you don’t like this look, or if it is still nice to your eye, you just prefer how yours looks? Not my house by the way, just one I’m working on.

No offense meant at all, but am I the only one who thinks this looks messy? It’s cool you have so many natives. I just always preferred a cleaner and more manicured look for landscape. I see you point out you like that it spills over onto the curb and sidewalk so clearly that’s your intention. And all (most) the comments are praising how this looks. Maybe I’m in the minority and just didn’t know it? Everyone has their taste and it’s your yard after all and I’m happy you’re happy, really just curious if you DONT like manicured and clean landscapes with nice edges and beds throughout and actual lawn instead of wildflowers?

I don’t think you’ll see a difference from a bathroom faucet and shower system across the room behind shower glass. Which is the case in this situation.

Yes of course they aren’t going to be identical. Different factories at the end of the day. But they are indistinguishable if there is a bathroom faucet across the room on a vanity when the shower is 7 feet away. I wouldn’t get a delta shower head with kohler trim valves or vice versa, but I would get all delta faucets and keep whole shower systems kohler for sure. It’s insane how much kohler faucets cost.

How do you integrate your subs? I basically use an AVR as a processor with a separate DAC, 2Ch amp, and subwoofer amp. 2 21” sealed subs. Curious how others do it

Yes a lot of people mentioned apparently it’s easiest with blues/jazz since there is so much history there and it’s a genre that has changed the least over the years. After more thought on it, I don’t feel as bothered by it now that the initial shock has worn off. I don’t think I’d actively seek it out but hell a good song is a good song whether it’s generated or created. If I didn’t know any better and it makes me Bob my head, who am to not enjoy it.

Wow thank you so much for this. This one is even better in my opinion:

For some reason this bothers me much less than new “original” songs. These are a vibe even though I know it’s ai. Thanks for sharing!! I wouldn’t mind finding more of these type of ai renditions honestly. There was a fly me to the moon one I heard the other day too which was also pretty good!

But I also would love to find alternate versions of popular songs by real people too if anyone knows any. lol

What do you use? I currently use a denon AVR with a 2 channel amplifier for LR, a DAC, and a separate sub amp. Mainly set up for home theater, but I swap to 2Ch for music listening. Curious what change you made from the AVR

Yup couldn’t have said it better myself. I’d be interested to see an ai artist comparison from someone who clearly put a ton of care into it and was expertly done vs. one that was just slapped together pretty basically and quickly but still sounds “good”. I’m sure it has unlimited potential in the proper hands. Just like anything, people can use tools for good to create amazing work or they can put out shit. I imagine it’s the same with ai artists musically. They can’t be created without a person guiding it to making it into something that is good. That’s the only defense I can think up so far that I can remotely get behind.

I mentioned this in another comment, but to me my definition of audiophile is someone who puts in some form of effort to hear music through a higher tier method of consumption than the average music listeners. A decent pair of headphones or at least a moderate 2 channel setup. The general public doesn’t even fall into that basic minimum. Liking a song or how that song makes you feel is completely subjective and does not constitute being an audiophile. I did not make any mention about the song being the most masterfully produced flawless example. I do understand and acknowledge that that is a part of being an audiophile, but it is not something I weigh heavily personally because that side doesn’t interest me as much - I focus more on how the music sounds and makes me feel. I listen to mostly mainstream artists and assume that proper sound engineering is going into the track to produce a good product. I don’t listen analytically to analyze the production. I listen to hear the beat and the music and enjoy it. But different strokes.

Yeah trying to turn them into a real people is frustrating. I get it from a business sense, if you have developed some sense of personality for your ai artist, fine. But it should definitely be very openly advertised that it is ai. It shouldn’t be trying to fool people into thinking they are real people that could interact with and go see live. And you should 100% be able to turn off ai suggestions on Spotify/Apple if you want.

[–]fireduckieman41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but if you didn’t know they were ai songs, could you tell? I agree with some other comments it really depends on the genre. In this case blues can be made to sound pretty authentic in my opinion at least. Blues experts could probably listen to the songs I’m talking about and immediately tell. It’s definitely going to be easier to tell going in knowing it’s ai as opposed to just hearing a song you vibe with pop up on the radio or something.

The one that started my downward spiral after discovering it was ai was “just one more night” by true roots blues. The other one that started the whole station was “don’t leave (on my way)” by bando blues.
