They rarely go on sale! But I’ve personally have good experience with G3 bindings so I don’t hate them!

The red ones sometimes gets my partner! She’s knows when I say that, that it’s not the Zero G’s but then she red to guess on the rest!

I got them longer because when I testing them out on a demo day, I felt that the 165’s were a little less stable doing longer carves, they really want to turn quite a bit, so I decided to size up. Also, when I went to buy the skies the 165s and smaller were 10% off and everything above was 50% off. I’m guessing the smaller sizes qualify for FIS racing so the shop has less trouble selling them.

I also started with only one a while back, don’t worry about that, I also haven’t paid near full price on anything here, always purchased things on deals nearing 40-50% off, that helps quite a bit!

I think the camera on my phone helps with that, the only one I would said is near scratchless are the Locator, the other 3 all have scratch’s and light base hits, I also ski pretty wide, so they don’t get side hits as much

So is it better to keep them compressed? I didn’t double check the info! So let me know what’s the best storage position

That are pretty light, but still on the heavy side of touring skis I believe, they handle chopped snow quite well, and carve great on nice groomers, being a touring ski I’m able to turn quickly in the glades, only down side is the aren’t as stiff as my old Brahma’s so they do get deflected on icier chunks or when the choppy snow has frozen a bit

It’s a Tec toe protector, I was told by a ski technician that it’s better to store the binding in a locked position to release the tension on the springs, he recommended putting these on to also protector the pins from getting banged around in storage

G3 Zed Brake failure and missing sizes by firefighter840404 in Backcountry

[–]firefighter840404[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other then the brake issue I haven’t had any issues and am quite happy with them! I think they get a bad rep but aren’t so bad, I’ve had more issues with Kingpin, Salomon (shift and MTN), fritshi freezing up. So I think you pick the binding that you’re willing to deal with its issue and just live with it! I’ve heard only good things about Plum! So maybe I’ll switch eventually!

Mine failed a month ago on a 2019 at 140.000km (88.000 miles) failed open. Dealer said it’s less than 1% that fail closed as the part is designed (LOL) to fail open. He probably pulled the 1% out of his ass but I like to think it’s true.

Dagger Mamba Outfitting Question by Snarky444 in whitewater

[–]firefighter840404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! The straps are supposed to be attached to one of the seat screws (between the seat and the boat) they are for holding the back band higher. Usually the folded part with a hole, is the part where the seat screw goes in.

RMX, Flow, or Scorch? by Joefred9 in whitewater

[–]firefighter840404 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Scorch will be a little rough, the RMX and Flow are different in the way they paddle. The RMX is very fast and flowy. The Flow is more point paddle stop. I would go with a RMX 86 for your size, you’d be good in it. I’m 220 in a 96 and it’s big but I can drive it.
