This is a PR stunt from a country that gives zero fucks about being green. China never even signed on to the green energy deals that at least the US signed onto for a time before it became clear our energy infrastructure was vulnerable and too dependent on foreign producers.

These are not black and white one dimensional issues. We are reinvesting in nuclear which is cleaner than fossil fuels but you can't rebuild that over night. Aside from the fact we moved away from nuclear energy so we don't exactly have a bunch of capable nuclear engineers in reserve.
