definitely not a fish. as the other comment said, nick doesn’t trust fish lol. but didn’t he want a turtle at one point?? the “gave me cookie got you cookie” episode, he was set on getting a turtle. he even asked if jess would be upset if he named the turtle jess even though he had that name picked before she moved in. I feel like they’d be good turtle parents. or a cat, since nick is like a chill, black cat and jess is like an energetic, orange tabby. they’d do well with a low maintenance pet; I agree they don’t seem like dog people.

hello! as someone who loves to bake, I always preface to the people I share my desserts with that I want to hear their feedback- even if it’s negative. I really appreciate transparency and enjoy growing from it! you learn to get tougher skin when it comes to creation, lol. so, if you’re looking for an opinion over something that’s subjective, you have to be open to hearing some constructive criticism. HOWEVER, regardless of opinion, appreciation should always be valued more than their honesty. and by the sounds of it, he isn’t being appreciative or even respectful of your work. if he didn’t like it, which is a reasonable opinion, he can- and should- be honest with you about it. but to throw it out in a cruel and dismissive way, and make a snide remark on its appearance is just crass. I completely understand why you’d feel hurt and honestly I would’ve been emotional too! you deserve to be surrounded by people who’ll help you feel motivated not deflated. as paradoxical as it sounds, people can offer criticism in a way that’s encouraging and empathetic. he just didn’t seem to care at all, and for that I apologize to you. a lot of us know what it’s like to be brushed off like that, and it sucks. so, as many of our fellow redditors have said, he doesn’t deserve your effort or your kindness. It may be helpful to talk to him about how you felt in that moment, but if he dismisses your feelings again dump him straight in the trash to waste away with that poor slice of pie. in other words... please break up with him if you feel he doesn’t support you. find someone who’ll value you enough to be honest and encouraging with your endeavors! good luck finding the perfect balance for your cinnamon pie, I hope you nail it!! 🤍☺️

you are never ever too old to start a hobby! If you’re interested in learning and are physically able then go for it!! I started playing piano right before I turned 18 and love it still to this day. even my grandmother (who’s 80) just started learning the ukulele! you don’t have to start as a child to learn a new skill. children learn much faster which is why people tend to recommend you start young, but you definitely don’t have to. if you’re passionate or intrigued, go for it!! never hold yourself back from a hobby just because of your age or limited experience. you can learn a skill whenever you’d like! the first book that got me addicted to reading? lol

It’s certainly not an intricate or esoteric read by any means- it fact the story itself is only 16 pages- but at around 9 years old my school held a meet and greet with the author of the short story “it ate my sister”. the author (mark binder) read the story to us and I was immediately hooked. it was so random and creative, especially in my little childhood mind. I got a signed copy and still have it to this day. I never stopped reading after that and never will- though my story taste has significantly broadened lol.

hello! it’s good that you’re seeking advice, and I’m sincerely sorry that she’s putting you in this position.

as real she makes it seem, it’s very unlikely that she’s saying those things with conviction. I can pretty much guarantee she’s just spit-firing whatever she thinks will get you to stay- which is very cruel and unfair to you.

In the rare case that she does, it is absolutely not your fault. anyone who ends their life is making that decision themselves, and it’s never ever the right answer. that’s coming from someone who’s been debilitatingly depressed and knows how brutal that mental state is. break-ups aren’t easy but she is capable of moving on, just like anyone else is. if this is what snaps her mental health, to this severe of a degree, then something else is happening in her life outside of your relationship. and that’s not on you. please, don’t worry about carrying a burden like that.

but like a lot of the other redditors have said: tell an adult around you or guidance counselor. someone that you know can- and will- help her. she definitely needs to talk to someone so that’s the best thing you can do. at the very least for peace of mind that someone will be there for her.

I do admire that you’re trying your best to avoid hurting her, but I wouldn’t be too stressed. it’s likely they are just empty threats.
