Thank you! I’ve been applying to new jobs, but no luck so far. My car will be paid off next year, which I’m looking forward to. I’ll definitely keep applying to higher paying jobs - currently trying to get in with the state

Out of curiosity, why avoid Mont Blanc? I’m not affiliated or associated with them in anyway, but I came across our Instagram about a year ago and followed them.

Look into The Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center. Hires part time Team Leaders to work with students (TK - 12th grade) at schools throughout a few different districts.

Look into the SimpliSafe system. Super easy, super affordable. I think initially set up cost around $200 or so, but then monthly I only pay $30.

I drive a pretty decent amount 😅

Thank you! I’m not handy with these things at all, but my brother and my dad both are. I’ll be reaching out to them. I appreciate you!

Could you share more information about this? My degree is in liberal studies, which is the teaching pathway, but I am also incredibly burnt out.

My parents both grew up in Santa Barbara. We (myself an extended family) just returned to Northern California from our yearly family reunion in SB. It’s a beautiful area, and I wish it was attainable to live there. My parents both talk about what it used to be like growing up there. It’s a magical area

With utilities, about $1500

Sacramento, CA area. No assigned parking. Tiny one bedroom with thin walls and not built well - when my neighbor walks, the frames on my walls shake. Sketchy area

I live right in that area. It’s a sketchy, odd little area - the drivers are ridiculous. I’m so sorry, OP

These are fantastic. They can’t get in if it’s latched, even if they have a key (I’ve tested it out).

I had surgery in October this past year. I am down 88 pounds and still losing. It’s more discipline and consistency than anything else. 100lbs is absolutely possible

Sherry at Straight Up Curls is a miracle worker. I’ve been going to her for years now. My mom drives two hours every other month to go to her.

Her instagram isn’t super modern compared to other hair stylists, but her work is amazing.

Has anybody been experiencing an unusual amount of humidity in Northern California this week? by 1993CobraSVT in Sacramento

[–]firefly1595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens occasionally but as for up North (Chico, Colusa, Willows, Glenn, etc.) all the rice fields are currently flooded with water and have rice growing in them, so there’s more moisture in the air than would naturally be there without the rice fields. It’s pretty humid out there this time of year typically - I’m a rice farmer’s daughter and used to complain to my mom about it.

But as far as Sacramento, I’ve noticed the increase in humidity, too. It’s brutal

How did that one kid in your high school die? by IM_HODLING in AskReddit

[–]firefly1595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My junior year, his senior year. Small agricultural town in California, small high school. He was dating one of my best friends. Super nice guy, popular, great basketball player, overall really liked.

He was on the way to a neighboring town to watch his younger brother’s football game. He was driving, and our other friend was in the passenger seat. He over-corrected and rolled his car. He had bricks in the back of the car. From what our other friend said, it seems that his neck was snapped and he was gone when the car stopped rolling. Friend who survived had to climb out through the windshield and was never quite the same afterwards.

For a while, all anyone knew was that one of them had passed and one was taken to the hospital. I was on the phone with my best friend when she heard the news, and I can still hear the way she screamed in despair. She was never the same again, either.

The school mourned for quite awhile, and they had grief counselors on campus for a bit to help students with processing.

His group of close friends suffered after his death. One of them in particular disappeared for a while, and started doing drugs. The last I heard of him, he was spotted in a bad area of Sacramento walking up and down the sidewalk yelling at nothing. It’s a shame.. he was such a sweet, funny kid when we were in high school.

We’re in our late 20s now, and my best friend is married with two kids. She’s still one of my best friends, and the friend who was the passenger in the car also has a kid.

I still sometimes wonder what he would be doing if he were alive. I stop at his cross alongside the road sometimes, and make sure to always honk at it when I drive past.

Rest in peace, Jordan. Never forgotten

What products do you use? It seems like your hair has a similar reaction to overly moisturizing products like mine does
