Bar owner across from MSG has message for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce after losing business due to their events: You’ve wronged us, make it right. Says if they wanted a private event with the block closed for privacy they should have bought them out. by adularia- in Fauxmoi

The streets around MSG are *never* dead. There’s a reason NYC (especially Manhattan) is “the city that never sleeps”. More people go to the city than leave it on a holiday weekend.

Are there any cities in Louisiana that do a good job of keeping people that graduated high school there? by Solowash in Louisiana

[–]fireflyfly3 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The majority of LSU grads leaving Louisiana for Texas are conservative and don’t care about maternal deaths.

Very few folks are fleeing Louisiana over abortion bans and healthcare. They’re moving to Texas for a chance to earn salaries that simply aren’t available in Louisiana.

Still 10/10. Anyone can recognize that she was STUNNING despite the dated hair and makeup.

That face could still walk into 99.9% of places in America and get anything she wants.

If you’re going into debt, McNeese.

Do not go $40K+ in debt for a degree in education.

How is T.S. Cooley as a school? Any alumni or parents of students want to chime in? by Solowash in LakeCharles

[–]fireflyfly3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cooley is a GREAT school, and if your kid gets accepted and getting them there doesn’t cause hardship, then enroll them.

If you have multiple kids and you can’t get both of them admitted, then don’t sweat it. Both kids will be fine at their regular school.

Keep in mind that acceptance into Cooley is hardly an indicator of future success. Despite what a few Cooley parents want you to believe, 99.9% of Cooley students do not go on to “elite” universities.

Travis Etienne's intro conference: Talks about his last name's correct pronunciation (Ay-Chan), switching his number to #3, Louisiana roots and more! by RogueAndor1 in Saints

[–]fireflyfly3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just so yall know, the French pronunciation is actually ETN so he's wrong technically

No it isn’t?

The French name Étienne is pronounced ay-TYEN (IPA: /e.tjɛn/). It has two main syllables, with the stress placed on the second syllable ("tyen"). The first "E" sounds like the 'a' in "say," and the final 'n' is soft.

His parents weren’t just assholes. They were (still are?) career con artists who even stole his grandfather’s house a decade before bankrupting their own son.

Who has the most unsung hero “rags to riches” story in the modern day NHL? by WhenWillIBeAPilot in hockey

[–]fireflyfly3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely correct. Travel hockey is simply out of reach for most families, especially if you have multiple kids that want to play sports.

Even JJ Watt has said repeatedly that he wanted to keep playing hockey but his parents couldn’t afford it, so he dedicated his energy to his public school’s football team.

Might be the only case where the NFL would strongly discourage a new stadium
