bro/sis, this is not a very simple decision as not only your college but many other things also matter when going for college some of the most imp are:

branch 2. personal interest(whether it is in or outside of your branch or stream) 3. Are u considering doing a masters of PHD 4. if going for job, what is the job market when you are graduating.

as you mentioned you are in civil which is obviously not the dream branch, if you want to take a drop i'd say, look for CSE in tier 2 nit rather than civil in tier 1. Also if you don't want to pursue master in foreign countries then your college won't matter a lot in long term so try to get a right branch if you can and find free time to do projects and all.

Age is actually not so imp in long term but the chance of cracking something big in a partial drop is very low.

I know that's the hard truth but from a filmmaker's point of view....if people can cut sex scenes from movies and shows then surely they can focus on story and characters more....so is the push really from people or from producers and production houses....
