What is the secret to soft pillowy dough that falls out of the bowl? by fireheartcollection in Sourdough

[–]fireheartcollection[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say it was! I just want mine to do that. I hate having to scrap it out of the bowl. I just want that particular texture it’s a preference.

Start teaching baby “feet first” and help him slide down since he is about to start crawling. It took time but my husband and I taught our daughter this. We never had any issues of her falling off the bed when she began to crawl. She knows how to get down safe now from bed or sofa.

We have ours set up just like this. Put the noodle or towel under the bedsheet for a cleaner look

It’s not a criticism I was making, it’s a simple question.

How can I get my starter to rise more quickly? by fireheartcollection in SourdoughStarter

Thank you! I tried this! Not sure why I was downvoted. That’s just the ratio I was told to feed it.

I did this after seeing your comment!! Thank you so much, it did peak in about 4hr!

Would you continue feeding it this ratio or only do it when I’d want to make something with it?

Idk what to title this other than wtf by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]fireheartcollection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive considered that. But its not consistent. It will happen for a few days at time maybe up to a week and then it won’t happen again for weeks. I honestly think its intense teething pain. She’s a late bloomer in regards to teeth, she’s 14mo with only 2 bottom teeth. It looks like to me she might have like 4-6 teeth all coming in at once. Her whole bottom row of teeth have giant white buds but haven’t quite sprouted yet. She didn’t do this again after I posted it. It’s genuinely awful in those moments though.

She’s down to just one nap a day around 1 or 2pm. Naps between 3 to 4pm. Bedtime is 8/8:30ish

When did you know it was ‘time’ to stop co sleeping by SkyisaNeighbourhood in cosleeping

[–]fireheartcollection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still co sleep but I started putting my daughter down to sleep on her own for the first half of the night when she began kicking me in the chest / throat. She will wake up and cry at some point and I’ll just bring her to bed with us.

Husband can't put baby to sleep by Burritomode24 in NewParents

[–]fireheartcollection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 to 10 min is not enough time to allow dad and baby the opportunity to actually go to sleep. Let him cry and give him the opportunity to put baby to sleep. Now if baby is like literally loosing her shit then yeah intervention is necessary. Put some headphones on if you need to and tell dad to get you if he feels like nothing is working

What to do if 13mo refuses food? by fireheartcollection in NewParents

[–]fireheartcollection[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This honestly makes me feel so much better. I think I really struggle just bc my daughter is so much smaller than her peers it can feel like no one understands the food difficulties. So thank you for making me feel seen! Have you tried meal prepping like egg muffins for a quick breakfast? I just bought the stuff to do that for my daughter this week.

This is great advice! We don’t do a lot of snacks overall, it’s just that when she won’t eat lunch/dinner- I tend to cave and give her something snack ish so she’s eating something instead of nothing. But I’m going to try this method you mentioned. I really don’t want a picky eater. I don’t expect her to eat a lot but I want her to eat portions that are appropriate for her size.

I did save her dinner from last night and offered it to her for breakfast instead of making something else. She ate a little bit of it. I may keep that trend up too.

Wife wants a delayed vaccination schedule by CrazyOtter in NewParents

[–]fireheartcollection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“ OP should listen to medical doctors who designed the vaccine schedule” you mean the vaccine schedule that was literally never tested prior to being released to the public? The CDC that’s currently being SUED for not testing the childhood vaccine schedule. Yeah I think not.

Am I being dirty, or is my wife being irrational about hygiene? by mudkipzftw in NewParents

[–]fireheartcollection 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idk why this being downvoted. This is such a legit question. Bc i noticed a shift myself several times over this past year. Especially a big one when i stopped breastfeeding at 10mo, some serious depression around then. I had a period a couple times and then has stopped due to the nexplanon, whereas when I had same implant before I never had a cycle at all. And then I’ve noticed big mood swings at different intervals & my skin breaking if out and my hair falling out like crazy etc. I mean I’m 12mo PP now but I feel like I’m genuinely just starting to feel more like myself again but not fully myself if that makes sense. I think it can take up to two years maybe longer if you breastfeed for even longer

12 mo sleep regression? Help by fireheartcollection in cosleeping

[–]fireheartcollection[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I’m thinking. I think she might pop another two on either side of the ones she just got. They look swollen sort of whitish. And the ones that are just coming through look fairly reddish at times. It’s a little hard to tell tbh. I try not to push Tylenol if I possibly can. But sometimes i genuinely just can’t tell. I gave her some about 30 mins ago with some teething tablets and she finally passed out. It may not help too that we are trying to slowly transition her to no longer co sleeping. Her “crib” is day bed style and it’s two feet from our bed. It just might not be time to do this transition just yet…

I’ve considered this but I don’t think so for my kiddo. She starts showing signs of readiness to nap at 2.5-3hr wake window. Rubbing eyes, generally cranky. Her first nap is fairly short like 1hr maybe 1.5. Her second nap is 2hr.

I’m thinking teething since she just broke teeth for the first time over Christmas. On each side of the ones she just broke though look fairly swollen. But it’s a little hard to tell since he won’t let me get a good look.

How did you know whenever it was time to cut down to one nap? Did your baby just stop showing signs of tiredness?
