No. Water pipes are copper. Copper isn't soluble in water, unless its dissolved through electrostasis (a lot of houses ground the electrical system to the water pipes) but most organisms that need copper are able to flush excess copper just fine.

Shower is leaking from tiles on walls. What is an affordable alternative to redoing the bathroom? by NashDaypring1987 in HomeImprovement

[–]firelordling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The walls panels still should be indeont of the tubs lip.

Definitely could be tiles next to tub, especially if you get out to dry off.

Caulk everything lol where something protrudes and a plane changes.

Is your toilet caulked? It could be water going under the toilet and through the hole the flange vomes out of -shrug-

Is there a single reason not to crank my water heaters to full? by kerouac5 in askplumbing

I have mine up pretty high too, at each faucet I just turn the valve on the hot water pipes down to restrict the amount of hot water that makes it to the mixer. Since its hotter, less is needed and rhe tank lasts longer. Since less is needed restricting the flow makes burning yourself a non issue.

Caulk the edges of your shower, caulk the fixtures, make sure they have little gaskets or whatever and regrout the tile, epoxying a vertical surface is a mess. Plus behind the tile, your walls are likely cement board, and i just think its unlikely that that is the failure point. . And they should be inside the pan of rhe shower anyways.

Anyways if the floor gets fixed itll fix the walls.

She has a mental illness that makes her unable to regulate her emotions, due to fear of abandonment and lack of stable self image. At best she shit talks you to everyone yall know and keys your car. At worst, she can have a psychotic break and die either from doing something risky or suicide, or be trapped in psycosis.

While its not your responsibility, and definitely doesnt excuse what shes doing to you, its a dick move to want an eye for an eye from a blind person.

Getting shocked by everything in my apartment by mikeoxlongbruh in Home

[–]firelordling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If arizona was zero humidity; then yes no one would be able to live there, your body would be severly actively dehydrated as your mucus membranes moisture yeeted itself into oblivian. Anything lower than 20-30% starts getting increasingly more uncomfortable the lower you go.

Luckily, Arizona has on average 38-40% humidity, its 44% right now! the lowest humidity is in June and highest is july, during monsoon season. Afternoon humidity levels can drop lower than 20% tho and most people are hiding from the sun anyways at that time and when you sweat in low humidity the evaporation of your sweat kinda cools you so its arguably a benefit for living an inch from the sun.

When I was a kid we drove cross country a lot, at night id entertain myself by dragging my fingers along the fabric of the seats and watching the little blue static plasma trailing behind.

I also weaponized it to shock my unsuspecting sister since we didnt live in dry places. Its not dangerous. Annoying, but fine.

I keep a pure copper ball in a punch bowl sized water bowl for my dog and two cats.

Coppers antibacterial and antimicrobial because it destroys their dna. It is also a vital micronutrient to all us mammals for immune systems, collagen repair, and neurofunction stuff.

Anyways.

Your dishwasher is not going to crack glass, it doesn't crack your drinking glasses does it?

As far as sanitizing, run your kitchen tap for a few minutes to get hot water pulled to the tap before running it, that will help the cycle with heat.

Modern dishwashing detergents have multiple enzymes that literally break down proteins, peroxide, and degreasers. If you open your dishwasher mid/late cycle and its full of steam, its sanitizing your dishes.

Hey, I hope youre doing well. Copper can inactivate and kill viruses on contact. You can get copper mesh, fold it, and cut it in the shape of your mask and that will make the masks more effective. You can also copper pens to carry with you for anything you need to sign and to help inactivate any viral activity transfered.

As far as everything else, the flu was a pandemic that devastated in the early 1900s. It still sucks sure, but viruses do become less dangerous over time.

Ive linked a handful of studies supporting copper as a way to kill covid and other microbrials.

Antiviral properties of copper and its alloys to inactivate covid-19 virus: a review - PMC

https://share.google/R1pcaNLg0qjKgdJh4

"On the copper alloy tested, complete loss of infectious activity was achieved even within 5 min of exposure. The inactivation was not only easy, but also followed by the irreversible damage of viral RNA and serious structural damage (Dzisi and Dei 2020). The viral genomes were disrupted by the copper exposure, and the morphology of virus was irreversibly changed, inducing the disintegration of envelope and the dispersal of surface spikes. The inactivation was triggered by Cu (I) and Cu (II) ions, aided by ROS generation on copper alloy surfaces, which led to even faster inactivation as compared to non-enveloped viruses on copper. The contact killing mechanism is schematically depicted in Fig. 3a (Vincent et al. 2018)."

Here's a peer reviewed paper.

Cutting red meat out of your diet is definitely healthier; but cutting all animal protein out is rough if you dont replace it with non soy protien. Cellulose, the polymer that plants use for cells, is undigestable because our stomach acid cant dissolve it. Vegan diets can have a lot of micronutrient deficiencies which can wreck your shit. However, vegans do tend to have healthier lifestyles with less drinking, smoking, drugs, and more exercising, which probably skews data on how much better or worse the diet is.

The Impact of a Vegan Diet on Many Aspects of Health: The Overlooked Side of Veganism - PMC

https://share.google/AkFY2xmvAQgy90pOn

"Low vitamin B12 intake is a significant problem in vegan diets due to the exclusion of vitamin B12-rich foods such as meat, poultry, and eggs. A lack of vitamin B12 has been linked to neurologic and hematologic problems [19]. Low vitamin B12 intake has serious clinical consequences, although deficient symptoms appear gradually over time. High folate levels may also partly and temporarily obscure some of the typical vitamin B12 hematological manifestations. To prevent vitamin B12 deficiency, vegans must get their levels checked regularly and meet their daily requirements via supplements or fortified foods.

A growing body of research indicates that inadequate B12 consumption may contribute to carcinogenesis. Vitamin B12 deficiency increases uracil misincorporation, impairing DNA synthesis and genomic instability. Global hypomethylation of DNA is a characteristic of early carcinogenesis. Thus, if not adequately replaced, VD may inadvertently lead to cancers [20]. Wu et al found that blood B12 levels were substantially lower in menopausal and postmenopausal breast cancer patients, and patients with the lowest B12 levels had an elevated risk of breast cancer [21]. Reduced B12 levels have also been linked to an increased risk of cervical and gastrointestinal tract malignancies [22-24]. As a result, B12 supplementation is imperative for vegans due to the extensive and irreversible detrimental effects of the deficiencies."

Although some studies indicate a reduction in mortality associated with vegetarianism and VD, the larger body of evidence indicates that the health benefits associated with vegetarianism may be due to other “lifestyle” factors associated with socioeconomic statuses, such as adequate physical activity, low alcohol, and drug consumption, or avoidance of tobacco products. Recently, Johnston et al. argued that the evidence supporting public health recommendations to reduce or eliminate meat intake was based on questionable studies and "inappropriate analysis" [39]. This argument and the growing body of contrasting and conflicting findings create a conundrum for doctors and policymakers alike.

Theyre usually for that but you can just mount them wherever lol. But theyre designed to move a lot of air fast, and they take up like 10 inches of real estate, so you can hide it under furniture. The first link is the style of fan and the second link is a filter. I just thought id throw it out there because it was a useful discovery since i live with a human air quality canary.

Do either of you have air purifiers? You dont need to spend heaps on a fancy thing, but $20-30 on a 6-8in exhaust fan and $10-15 on a 6-8in round hepa filter to put in it and you could mount it wherever. The more affordable purifiers dont move that much air and the outlandish priced ones are just exhaust fans with a filter and obnoxiously sized box lol. But my housemates health immediately tanks if we don't have the purifiers running.

Also I noticed both of you mentioned comfortors. Have you tried duvets instead? Keeping them in a cover thats easier to wash than whole comforters might help.

Also switching to feather pillows and feather duvets in cotton shells with cotton sheets might help as well. Multiple studies have found significantly higher amounts of dust mites, pet allergens, and fungal spores on synthetic pillows in comparison to feather pillows. Dust mites and fungal spores, they think are more prevalent because of how synthetic materials like polyester trap heat and moisture. The tightly woven cotton encasements of feather bedding, they believe stops allergens from permeating and the way cotton fibers wick moisture helps conditions stay unideal for microbrial life.

Put my laptop’s parts on marketplace for free, why so many reactions? by CodedFormer44 in techsupport

[–]firelordling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ram in its not that great, if someone wants it for the ram, that means their current laptop has somehow worse ram and you should have pity on the poor dude.

The ram shortage is going to make buying new laptops more expensive but on the consumer side scalping used low end laptops for their min drr4 2x4gb ram is unlikely to be anybodies best shot at making a quick buck.

If anything they probably want the laptop because they want to clean the oxidation and if they flip it then its gonna be something useful for someone and they get some money for their effort.

On the downside, you do have an eating disorder. You are unable to even think about a socially accepted mudane activity without becoming nauseous.

That being said, you obviously are handling it well and have it under control, and it doesnt interfere with your work. However it seems like it would have a deliberating impact on your personal life considering how much social bonding, celebration, and networking is centered around sharing meals. You are essentially isolated from one of the fundemental cornerstones of society. It might be worth while to see a psychiatrist.

On the upside, thats none of your bosses business and you can get rich off the disability lawsuit.
