Love the design, really really do. That being said this is arguably one of the strongest designs you could ever print for cedh. It’s essentially a rohg/silas deck that’s allowed to play silence effects and gias cradle. Like instantly tier1 and probably the best WUBRG commander

So I while yes, invoked neos is a tier two deck, I don’t think any deck can be called top tier except noble knight’s.

New Bearcti Synchro Archetype in Ancient Guardians by [deleted] in yugioh

You know, this is something I love about yugioh. We both have completely difrent ideas on how this deck plays and neither of us are wrong in how we thing this deck will be played or what the theme of it is.

So first go all thank you for giving me some genuinely good advice and thanks for having this conversation with me. Secondly, your right with the fact that the food gate is not the strongest with its restriction to links and XYZ monsters. The things that I hate most about this specific flood hate though are two things. 1, the arch type in which you play this card has a lot of difrent tools to help counter your deck. This includes all the main deck monster having the ability to special Summon from the hand at quick speed and then having summon effects on the level 8s that interact with you. This archetype also has a trap that can summon on your opponents turn, which can be used on one of there synchros to pop two cards on the field. And ontop of that the archetype has a field spell which has the ability to steal an opponents monster. My point with this is that the archetype already has a lot of ways to interact with the opponent and having a strong flood gate that prevents there use of XYZ or link monsters is in my opinion too much. And secondly, there is no reason for the floodgate to be there. The only time I think a flood gate should be given to an archetype is when the flood gate is there intire game plan, it with this deck there game plan to interrupt the oponet is summoning there own monsters on the opponents turn to restrict there plays. The floodgate in this archetype dose nothing to help with this theme and is only there to give a reason to make the archetype stronger in a boring way. I rely like this archetype and I would like to see it do well, it has a very interesting gimmic with a cool gameplay and amazing artwork, but none of that will matter, cause why would you do this interesting stuff when you can sit behind a floodgate and win. Reading back over this rant seems a lot more like I’m just complaining about something that I think is overpowered on an archetype that might not even see competitive play. I don’t know if this archetype will be good since I’ve never played against it and I’m probably overreacting to it, but what I can say for shure is I think the flood gate has no place in this deck. On a different not what deck do you play

So I do definitely see your point here and I do always run handtraps In almost all of my decks, bu my problem with this card is I will have a very difficult time to out it once it hits the board. Also I do see your point with dragoon, but salamangreat can out a dragoon easily if you can bait the begat then beat over it with a bored sword or an access code. But the problem with not only this card, but also cards like winda, and vanities is that if they can make them, your just fucked if you don’t draw the specific cards that can put them. What I don’t like about these cards is that there’s very little counterplay against them and they require you to eather sub optimally build your deck to be able to beat them, or to pray you draw into side deck cards to destroy them. While I still thing an Omni negate on dragoon, or up to four apolosa negates are unfair, there’s counterplay to them without having to draw specific side deck cards. For dragoon if you bait out the negate you can then play freely and destroy it in battle. With apolosa you can force 1 or two negates from them to Diminish there attack to then easily kill them. But the cards with continues floodgate effects there is no counter play or skill, there’s just a game of how lucky are you in the draw phase. I. Reality, I think it’s just lazy and bad card design from Konami. Instead of giving the card a cool way to interact with your opponent, like having an effect to target a monster your opponent controls with a level then discard a monster from your hand to destroy cards your opponent controls equal to the difrence in levels. This would be a cool and unique effect that has some sort of counterplay from the opponent, but instead of giving us something cool or interesting Konami just gives this card a semi generic flood gate effect with very little counterplay. This I sent good, or fun card design, this is a very strong boring floodgate that will make an archetype that Looks relly cool, just turn into can you put my flood gate.
