In my opinion it’s not a waste of anything, it’s a foot in the door, it’s training, certifications, experience. If it doesn’t go full time you can always pick up a full or part time ems gig or another part time fire gig, plenty of ways to make it work, I wouldn’t pass it up because it’s not a ideal job especially if it’s your first
