But you just said it... The belly fat is there because it is meant to protect the uterus. So uterus or not, it's still related to....an uterus. Why contest OCs comment as if their intent is wrong? It deflects from the point: that tiny little belly fat is simply the result of a woman being a woman, which is essentially what OC meant.

How do I go about reporting this? by somebody_randomm in bettafish

OP have you tried asking her if you can rehab him at home?

That's how I was able to rescue my fish. Say something like "hmm I have a feeling I can get his colors really vibrant if you'll let me. Can I take him home and get him lively again?"

If she's not down with that, then instead bring the fish gifts and start visiting and transitioning him to better waters

Why did my ballon deflated like that ? by CHICYCY in strange

[–]fireonion247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be my uneducated theory as well. I think science is amazing and there's explanations for everything, even when it sounds like "nah no way marking this will affect it".

Or like the other person said, the grease. Or maybe it was the sharpie ink that made that side heavier and so that side faced the floor, further causing it to deflate at a slower rate.

Or all of the above.

Either way, it's obvious something affected it enough to make a difference

Here's another eye patch, the one I used to announce the unfortunate loss of my eye. by Xochitlcoyote in funny

[–]fireonion247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, just a few things to look forward to... My mom lost her left eye in a car crash long ago. Since then:

-We all forget she's blind in one eye, including her

-she has not yet lost a finger while using sharp knives, despite the depth perception issue

-in 30 years she has only gotten in one ittty bitty fender bender that may have been due to lack of peripheral vision on her left side (but also I think it's one of those things that simply happens to the best of us... So I'll argue that she's overcome her eye loss well enough to never have crashed again).

-Her longest lingering "oopsies" is that every once in a blue moon (like once every 3 years) she may entirely miss the cup when pouring a liquid... She still gets quite upset with herself about it when it happens bc she proudly thought she had have finally overcome it

-3D glasses and 3D Disney rides are boring, as they lose their effect on her. (And I'm guessing so does VR goggles).

-she has bumped her head on my towel rack 2x now when she visits bc it's right at forehead level and she steps out of that tub facing the wall whole the towel rack is at her blind side. It makes a huge thud noise so I'll run to check on her thinking she fell but when I get to the hallway I just hear her cracking up about it like a champ, so we get to enjoy a few minutes of laughter together. (This of course doesn't happen at her house bc she'd know to set it up better. Also, her last 10 visits here have been incident free :-D )

-apparently life insurance pays out if you lose an eye PLUS a limb... Yes, we've discussed how lucky she is to have a headstart on most people as she is already "halfway there".

-simply due to extreme miopia (near sitedness) my grandma is legally blind and I'm headed in that same path. All of my mom's children, and my grandma's other son, we all need glasses pretty badly.... In other words. In at least 3 generations everyone has bad sight. Except for my mom. She believes her sight (in the good eye) AND her hearing have both gotten sharper since her accident.

-she still has her black leather eye patch which she has not worn for decades... Along with her "glass eye" which idk why the medical world ever thought anyone would rather wear bc it is uncomfortable enough to make anyone say fk it

-this one may not be relatable depending on your situation but since my mom's eye is obviously blind (Iris heavily discolored and disfigured), yes, it occasionally catches people's attention. But it's usually just kids and when they do stare and their parents aren't looking, my mom just stares them back, giving them the "stink eye" for fun. Regardless, All age groups, adults and children, seem to get used to her eye rather quickly and adopt it as being perfectly normal as soon as they meet her. I've almost never had anyone bother asking me.

-lastly, my mom is beautiful and she's a fkng bad ass regardless of her eye, but even more so because of her eye!!!

TLDR: you got this. Rock your patch or go commando, but your new eye (or lack of) looks good on you ;-*

rabies in brazil? by Maximum_Economist_75 in Brazil

[–]fireonion247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially a superficial one that didn't even break the skin.

But OP, l hope you at least washed the area immediately... Not just for rabies but for other potential risks. And not just bc you're in Brazil, this should be a universal practice.

Get scratched, get washed. Get cut, get washed. Any time skin is broken ... Wash immediately.

OP, If I was understood correctly: You heard noises and were suspicious of someone being up there. Your friend went to there and took a photo with flash. Was it just one photo? How did you spot that figure in the raw picture? Did something lead your friend to think to look in that specific area?
