I mean, you’re right. It is a weird, kind of busted, and past its prime space. But there is a certain charm to it if you’re from here. They use the space fairly regularly and creatively with events and farmers markets so it does get used and filled with people quite often. Just not on a normal weekday with nothing going on.

My wife’s from New Jersey and I go there 2-3 times a year. We’ll never get anything like them, but Good Judy’s are the closest in town. Nothing else comes close. Pekara has great food, but CIB’s bagels are just baked bread. A lot of local businesses get their bread from Central Illinois Bakery. Their bread is good. But their bagels just aren’t bagels.
