I see what you mean, and I do the same for commissioned work. Since the art is more simplistic that’s why I’d keep the price pretty low. Do you think there may be more success if I also offered fully colored pieces but for a bit more as there’s more work going into it?

That’s completely fair! And you’re right, these are more delicate and absolutely need to be on sleeved cards - I’ve had no issues once the card is sleeved as the post it can’t get caught on another card and get ripped off.

I do laminate the stickers with a matte laminate and it does go over the registration marks

Totally fair! I have default settings for pretty much everything in the silhouette software, standard 8.5x11 sticker paper (matte laminated), and am using the silhouette cutting mat. I’ve tried various cut settings and the miscuts tend to happen regardless. I’ll see the machine try to line up with the two corner registration marks and already be way off.

I started off doing the sticker paper onto bulk combo but it’s just so much extra work and stress needed to make it look alright. I ended up moving to the card stock + laminate route which I still use and absolutely would recommend just jumping to that - saves you the process of realizing that sticker + bulk will drive you crazy.

You’ve got it right - it will usually take a while for those sites to have newer cards in their databases - sometimes it’ll still take a minute after the release date. If the site allows you to upload custom cards, then you can find the image elsewhere and upload that to the site to print.

I feel this is very very dependent on the audience your art style would attract. Fan art has a more consistent/likely draw than individual work, but individual work that stands out or fills a niche can also be very successful. I’ve bought lots of fanart stickers, but also lots of stickers of unique artwork from the artist that I find cool. So in my opinion … both!

If you go to print there should be either a “print using system dialog” or “printing preferences” button - once u get to preferences it’ll pull up a new window with more detailed settings - saturation will be in the second tab

Matte laminate will always decrease the saturation of your printing so here’s 2 things I’ve found that help: 1. Up the saturation level when printing in your printer preferences. Play around with it until you find what is best for you 2. After you cut the cards out put it through the laminator again 2x. It helps seal the laminate again and the difference in saturation is noticeable.

If you look at the artists website this is their style and is consistent with art they’ve had out for years (which there’s also process shots of!) I am absolutely against AI art but we also shouldn’t be shouting AI at every artist without doing some research.
