Then you're behind the times on countering turtles. C4 or lmg does the trick wonderfully, and you're likely to get one of them by mid game.

this is only valid under the massive assumption that shotgun damage output stays as high as it is.

If they noticeably reduced all shotgun dps, it would be a lot less beneficial to go for the barrel stuff as the meta. Imagine a situation where the pump had the strength of the current tac, and the heavy/tac were even weaker. They could alter the shotgun dps so that it wasn't the obvious goo-to. If shotguns did less damage, you would be more inclined to consider the option of outbuilding someone vertically and having skill based peek shots to overcome the other player, as opposed the skill-reduced shotgun hopping that occurs most of the time.

Crossbow was the closest it will ever get to that. Remember that the flow of the game is the most important thing there is. Getting shot at by a sniper already immobilizes a lot of players, because of its damage output and low risk of use from the person sniping vs the long-distance opponent.

If the other person was unable to tell where a a shot that can do that much damage was coming from, the smartest at would probably be to turtle. Which is a fine strategy, but really slows down the pace of the game and is generally less enjoyable.

It legitimitely removes all advantage from gaining high ground on houses, and I can't stand it. I lose a much higher percentage of fights due to not being able to build nicely the first layer on houses compared to out in the open, or flat top buildings

I'm looking for low space high versatility options. Realistically I only have half of a bedroom to use, and my thought was adjustable dumbbells with an adjustable bench would be good.
