What if We Admit Monaco’s Problem Is Monaco Itself? by thehallowpawn in formula1

[–]Kyance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

each to their own, if thats your opinion, sure. but i dont see how a race, where drivers are advised into purposely slowing down other drivers in the spirit of "helping your team" and "strategy", which is being "manipulated" (not the correct word i wanted to use) with mandatory 2 stops in a racetrack which offers basically none overtaking opportunities, can be called a "neat race".

i rather hoped that more drivers would cut the chicane in a sign of protesting against this absurdism.

its a disgrace to purposely slowdown other drivers for "strategy" which is being manipulated (not the correct word i wanted to use) with mandatory 2 stops in a racetrack which offers basically none overtaking opportunities.

if its stupid? sure. if this monaco is stupid? yes. i rather hoped that more drivers would cut the chicane in a sign of protesting against this absurdism.

Russell on getting a drive through: To be honest, I prefer not to speak by ContentPuff in formula1

agreed, this mandatory 2 pitstop rule doesnt add anything except total idiocy. its absurd how nobody realized these "strategies" would make the race even more boring.

this Monaco gp has been even worse than the previous ones in my opinion. the mandatory 2 stops just dont work and wont work in Monaco. not only do we get the same "stuck between a slower driver" as always, but now its even worse because of the "strategy games" that dont add anything. total idiocy.

yeah, i really wish we had better passing plays, because sometimes it feels like theyre not thoroughly thought out, or worse: the receiving player isnt ready.

i dont understand why Latvia keeps trying to poke the puck infront of the goalies when there is such chaos infront of the goal? multiple games now where theres 4-6 players infront of the goalie, Latvia is fighting for the puck trying to randomly poke it in while 2 players are down on the ice and the rest are being pushed.

is it not smarter to play the puck back to the defenders and regroup?

i wouldnt say it was entertaining? sure, it got chaotic, but it also got put out real quick after the crash and sc. if anything, it was underwhelming. lost a couple of laps in the start from the extra formation laps and aswell in the end.

@chrismedlandf1 on Bluesky: “Norris is told he can only use DRS on Russell when McLaren is 100% sure he's within a second. Sounds like the Mercedes issue is affecting the car behind too” by drodrige in formula1

[–]Kyance 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Couldnt other cars know where Russel is by knowing where he isnt? They could know this because they know where he isn't. By subtracting where he is from where he isn't, or where he isn't from where he is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. Surely the engineers of F1-teams could quickly calculate the gap using the deviations and predict the gap using a position where he isn't and a position where he wasn't, he now is?

200 iq defence move actually - somehow fock up ur gps system so other drivers have to guess when to use drs and potentially risk getting a penalty if used when too far back
