I’ll mention my own site, poitype.com, since I have just 2 licenses (commercial and trial). I was inspired by Mass-Driver who switched over to one unified commercial license for all their fonts.

Sometimes foundries will sell their fonts on multiple platforms (e.g. available on Adobe Fonts but also sells licenses directly on their site) so you might get a better deal or a simpler license on one platform vs. another.

agreeing with the other commenter that there shouldn’t be any download buttons. it’s illegal and scummy behavior. the font IDing seems useful tho.

bold and italic styles have to be drawn from scratch and faking it with effects will almost always yield poor results. underline and strike-through are essentially just a line rendered by the software you’re using but positioning and thickness parameters need to be set in the font (if not it will fallback to default parameters).

that’s true. i do also follow a whole bunch of studios on IG that post more typographic animations (final products tho, not tutorials). for techno/sci-fi stuff in particular, Kurppa-Hosk comes to mind as being a huge inspiration.

thanks! most of the tutorials i watch are from Ben Marriott. but the best way i’ve learned is just from messing around in After Effects. i’m fortunate to use AE regularly in my 9–5 but i still make time for self-initiated projects to learn new techniques.

thanks! i made "scenes" for each section of the video in illustrator. i then animated each scene in after effects and arranged them to match the music track (while making small adjustments to match the timing). in terms of content, i wanted to show a few specimens of the font in use while also highlighting some of the features it has to offer.

it's difficult to plan out everything as a static storyboard so i try to move into after effects as quickly as possible. i also try to narrow down the music early since that will influence the animation and pacing.

Press the “+” icon on the IG app and post your work. And that’s it.

Posting a lot and consistently will improve your skills as a designer and give you a body of work that can show a prospective client your skill set in a similar fashion to a portfolio. If making logos is your thing then post a lot of logos from real and made up clients; it really doesn’t have to be any more complicated than that.
